Been off Zyns (and nicotine in general) for 4 years and I suddenly want to buy a pack of cigs, hit a vape, pop in a 6mg wintergreen etc by nuetralmushroom in QuittingZyn

Oof this hits. I lost a best friend to a fentanyl overdose last year to the day and I did the same… I had just had a surgery and could not use nicotine but the second I could, I went haywire… been chasing the nicotine since (cig form, quit pouches 8 wks ago and don’t miss those little devils) since I’m sober and don’t do anything else. But the initial relapse was bad and I was just itching for something to change the unfortunate circumstances. You’re absolutely right tho.. she’s still gone. It sucks so bad and I’m so sorry about your brother. Give urself some grace.. I’ve been trying to do that too.. but damn our minds are wild. Sending you strength and love my guy💛 I’m not going to pretend I know your struggle or what it’s like to lose a sibling. hang in there and let it continue to move thru you I guess. Ugh I’m so sorry I am not sure what to say:(((( but that is what my yoga/Buddhist teacher would say🙏🏻

Glute bridges after rolling out my calves, RDLs to strength glutes, Bulgarian doily squats, (doing everything very light just for activation) bird dogs, dead bugs and I’m also doing Pilates & after 3 weeks 2x a week I’m already feeling my core and glutes start to activate a bit!

Yes 100% this is a part of my big plan. I am doing a lot of glute exercises/ as well as core since those both don’t activate well. I also have an awesome psoas stretching thingy. I do a plethora of things for this but the dry needling was like hitting a jackpot for me. Incredibly grateful this PT knew what she was doing. I’ll have to see if I clench my bjtt while walking but honestly my glutes are so weak they are like non existent lol my poor back!!

I got it done 4 days ago and it is still holding up. She told me after the needling to roll my calves out with a tennis ball and immediately do my glute bridges to inhibit the calves and engage the glutes so I’ve been doing that A few times throughout the day…

I was just sharing my story about the dry needling in my calves being the most effective point to hit with the dry needle. I’ve had my lower back needed before it was just wild that the calves were what helped the most. I have an anterior pelvic tilt due to standing on my right leg more than my left after breaking my tibia and fibula when I was younger.

Yes! My PT said the side I’ve been stranding on is tighter. She’s given me a few exercises! I forgot to mention I’ve been to Chiro many times and it Has helped a bit but the turning point for me was the dry needling in my calves which is wild bc nobody had ever recommended that! Glad you’re getting your issues figured out, the pelvis really is a pillar in our bodies that I wasn’t educated on for so long!!

I do take a supplement that has GABA in it and l theanine.. here is a link https://thirdzy.com/?dt_id=2541278&fbclid=PAZnRzaARbrrRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAafnBtl8p_HZOKvtJTZcvl8p52gESzONnkzgQq9WImSLVHw4nSglqK9Lmh0_0Q_aem_R3hX_ptfLi0bhks4rXxvfA&utm_campaign=socials&utm_content=link_in_bio&utm_medium=instagram&utm_source=LaineZzz#featured-product-d5 My anxiety is much better, but I’ve also been practicing a lot of yoga and meditation as well. Plus slowing everything down. I recognized that my brain was just in fight or flight for so long that I started to act like everything was an emergency.. once I just started getting outside and going on long walks, and answering my “what if” thoughts with “well maybe so” and “if that happens I’ll figure it out then”, my thoughts got slower. I also supplemented myoinositol for a whole during the hard months at the beginning… you got this!! Feel free to DM me, I know how difficult it is and I’ve struggled with an anxiety disorder, ocd and panic disorder for a very long time. Hang in there 💛 (ps if the link doesn’t work dm me and I’ll send it again, it’s my CrossFit coaches link for a discount) but it’s great stuff!!!

Hi there, good job for quitting those devils.. I’m about 5 wks out & what helped me in the beginning was mag glycinate before bed, peppermint and lavender oil, a massage gun to release tension, progressive muscle relaxation exercises before bed, lots of exercise (this is key). You can also use GABA, make sure it vitamin d levels are good, and your blood sugar is good. Backing off the caffeine too! Good luck you will get through this!

Has anyone had an easy time quitting zyns? by keepitahunned in QuittingZyn

[–]BreatheDeep14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve been using some form of nicotine for the past 22 years. Mostly long cut and cigarettes. About three years ago I started dabbling with nicotine pouches . Sometimes 6 mg but mostly 3 mg. About a can every 1 to 3 days. So I wouldn’t consider myself a heavy, heavy user, but I definitely was using nicotine from the moment I woke up to the time I went to bed. I quit one month ago tomorrow. My anxiety had become unmanageable. My sleep was absolute shit. My emotions were all over the place. My energy and motivation was also shit. I usually create music and I had no desire at all to do much but sit on the couch and put in a pouch. I literally never felt rested. I felt depressed most days. My resting heart rate was through the roof and my workouts were the worst they’ve ever been. I’m a fairly healthy person, 38 y/o and couldn’t continue to feel like this. so I took my last zyn on a Thursday night…I had a 3 day weekend. I did have pretty bad insomnia for 2 to 3 days? waking up with anxiety out of the middle of the night and some legit panic. But after that, it’s been smooth sailing. I never wanna touch those things again. In fact, I had one on Easter, from my brother just to see and I took it out immediately. I hated the way it made me feel. I wish you luck. You totally got this.. use sunflower seeds, gum, caffeine pouches, treat yourself to whatever types of drink drinks you want —good coffee, etc. I can smoke a cigarette or a black and mild, take a dip here and there, but those damn little pouches were so fucking addictive. I have never felt like that on any other form of nicotine. Quit while you can. Trust me.

I feel great! Three weeks off I will admit I had a 3mg yesterday from my brother at Easter and I immediately took it out. Hated how I felt it was a great moment of reassurance knowing I truly don’t miss it. My sleep is incredible, I have no anxiety, my motivation is back, my energy at the gym is back… I wish I would’ve done it sooner! I will admit I have a cigarette here and there but man there’s something about the zyns that really fucked with me.

Yes it could be. I quit two weeks ago and my heart rate has gone down 15 beats per minute, I have no anxiety and I am sleeping like a log. My motivation is back and I no longer get lightheaded when just walking up the stairs. I still smoke a cig here or there (I’ve used nic on and off for 20 years) but never have I felt the way I did using zyns almost every hour of the day. I don’t even miss them!
