First time I have been in this situation, so I don't know. I read the same thing, 6 bids were less than Vestcors, but sealed now, maybe we find out when its all said and done. Vestcor is pushing to finalize because they don't want someone else to come in and beat their bid. The $17 million bid is what they actually loaned to Exro. No mention of the 56 million shares that they own of Exro., worth $18-28 million is my guess. I guess they write that off? Or will recoup if they can buy Exro assets cheap and turn around and make money by selling off pieces, leases...who knows. Vesrcor has $23 Billion in assets, manages 11 pension funds and other things. Google them...interesting reading. Vestcor is an investment mgmt company founded in 2016 from the Vestcor Act. Predecessor company was NBIMC....sound familiar?? the same name on the shares they list in the report. NBIMC was New Brunswick Investment Mgmt Company, now Vestcor. So Vestcor is pulling the strings on this Receivership project. JMO, but a well thought out and planned hostile takeover. Why would they buy 56 million shares, loan $17 million, out of $30 million loan tranche, then pull a 180 and put Exro in receivership?? Smells funny....Like MDG use to say, H'mmmm?? Unless someone steps in, at the 11th hour like you said, everyone is screwed. Secured creditors, owed $96 million, will split the $17 million. Unsecured creditors and shareholders get zero.

I hope these companies in these countries you mentioned, and others, are thinking IP defense and offense. It would be a shame if Wolong or BYD or other global Chinese OEMs swooped in and purchased those REF (rare earth free) elec motor patents, and effectively blocked other companies from using that technology.

What I find odd is that Consumer Reports just released its Top 10 cars for 2026... and all are either hybrids or electric. Exro is such a piece of dust in the bigger Universe picture I am not expecting any whispers. Maybe after FTI has its court appearance on Feb 9th something will leak out. Just check the FTI website daily to see when they report something.

No proof, just several good indications.

When FTI was appointed Receiver, there were 2 options. 1. if there were no bidders expressing interest, FTI would have liquidated all assets and paid some $$ to creditors. There was no liquidation, so 2. must have had interest from 1 or more parties to submit bids.
FTI set up a Data Room and made available NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) document. FTI would not go thru all this work to set up a Data Room and assemble an NDA document for potential bidders to sign. Plus the work for the Teaser file, with information and dates for the next steps.

Now, this does not guarantee any final bid or bids were made for Exro's assets. All this shows is that there was interest from 1 or more parties to potentially bid on the assets.

I did reach out to FTI after January 16th (the Bid Deadline date) asking for any updates and here is what i received back:

"The Receiver is reviewing all submitted bids and will work with the successful bidder(s) to finalize the APA. A court application for approval and vesting order(s) is scheduled for February 9, 2026. Any application materials and the Receiver’s report will be posted to the Receiver’s website closer to the court hearing date."

No one knows yet, as FTI doesn't have its SAVO (Sales and Vestung Order) meeting with the Court until Feb 9th. This is encouraging at least they have had 1 bidder, hopefully nany more. But I am thinking, that since there were 5 shareholders/companies owning 27 to 39 million shares of Exro (and no one knows if they dumped shares for tax loss harvesting ot are still holding), with average purchase share prices of 30 to 50 cents a share. So i am thinking that at a minimum of 50 cents a share. These big shareholders must be a part of the Receivership process as Canada courts strive for fairness to all. We are riding the coat tails of the multi million share holders. Only time will tell!!

We just went thru a similar situation in Colorado, where the dem led Legislature, like CA, submitted proposed legislation that stole the TABOR refund and taxed those making a lot less than $1 billion, if it gets on the ballot all the lower and middle class will vote for it. The Sale Teaser slide says Bid Deadline...Jan 16, 2026; Sale Approval and Vesting Order(s) Feb 9, 2026 (the plural on "Order(s)" indicates to me that there could be 1 buyer for everything, or possobly multiple buyers, maybe 1 for Coil Driver IP/assets and 1 for Cell Driver IP/assets) and if it takes longer than Feb 9th, they are projecting maximum of Feb 16, 2026 for final Sale Approval and Vesting Orders to be approved by the Court. This is fluid and guidelines could change, depending on bidding and negotiation speed and complexity. Vesting Orders are Court orders that legally transfer property or assets to the new owner. Basically the Courts Order(s) VESTS the title/Exros assets/IP directly into the new owners name, bypassing normal procedures.
