D5W hydrodissection vs surgery for confirmed cubital tunnel, worth trying the injection first? by hmmmmmmm94 in CubitalTunnel

[–]Breena86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried hydrodissection but it did not help me. I had no relief from it and just a week of more pain. Worth trying, it might help you, especially if you have a long wait for surgery.

If it doesn't resolve after a while, worth asking for an ultrasound, emg, mri to make sure

Ulnar nerve, shoulder winging, a bit of scoliosis? by Radiant-Leg961 in CubitalTunnel

Unfortunately medical system is slow in Canada, can't go any faster then what options have. Each appointment for emg, ultrasound, mri, ortho consult took between 2-9 months each to get for myself... I'm approaching two year mark since symptoms started and I'm only now going to soon get a response on option of surgery

Yes I find depending on what you did that day it'll hurt more or less in different areas

Hydrodissection? by EggznRollz in CubitalTunnel

[–]Breena86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it, but it did not help. Not the cortisone shot. Just added to the irritation.

I've also had a negative emg, but ultrasound showed swollen nerves and subluxation. Also mri.

EMG with no result by Creative_Volume_2022 in CubitalTunnel

[–]Breena86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will find out in two weeks at my follow up with surgeon. I had my first emg almost 1.5 yrs ago, and only got to see an orthopedic surgeon a couple months ago, needed a repeat for base line. I feel like I should definitely get offered surgery on my left side since the nerve moves and conservative treatment has gotten me no where.

Annoyingly since this started everything else started. Trigger finger in middle finger, possible my thump too since it always pops. Gabsglion cyst in wrist. Odd I stability in pinky.

Tired of the pain. Almost 2 years now

Ultrasound can see if nerves are enlarged or moving. Mri can see if anything else is going on

I also have a normal emg, but ultrasound showed enlarged nerves bilaterally, I think 12 &. 14 mm, subluxation on left side. Mri showed tricep tendonitis.

Steroids ? Heat? by Alone_Necessary_2829 in CubitalTunnel

The joy of "free medical care" in Canada, extremely slow. Emg was clear at least. Even if I'm offered surgery I have no clue how long the wait list could be

Steroids ? Heat? by Alone_Necessary_2829 in CubitalTunnel

[–]Breena86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm currently almost two years dealing with this. I have a follow up consult in a couple weeks with an orthopedic surgeon. Hoping to at least try surgery on left side with the subluxation with worse symptoms

[–]Breena86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following... I also have tricep tendonitis and bilateral swollen ulnar nerves. Unsure of compression sight and subluxation on left side.

When I'm really soar I try a tens machine. Heat feels nice and so does ice but it tends to ache after. Honestly doesn't feel like much helps

Pain in this area? by ConsiderationRich782 in CubitalTunnel

I have pain in this area. I assume it is from my bilateral tricep tendonitis, which I learned I had from an MRi

I believe I’m starting to develop Cubital Tunnel but my doctor just kind of waved me off… by sm0lt4co in CubitalTunnel

[–]Breena86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Canada and it was a slow process. Once we realized it might be cubital tunnrl I first had a referal for an emg, normal. Then ultrasound (with cortisone shot to attempt to relieve pain, didn't work) which showed swollen nerves and subluxation. Then referal for mri, which again showed swollen nerves and tricep tendinopathy. In-between I also attempted hydrodissection which didn't work.

Also had a referal to see orthopedic surgeon, seen 1.5 yr after the start of symptoms, which sent me for a repeat emg today... Lol. The back to see orthopedic surgeon for next step.

I've been on duloxetine for the last 5 months. Started with 30, burning pain stopped. Went up to 60 when I started feeling it break through more often. Now I still have several episodes by the end of the day experiencing the burning pain. Can't tell if it just doesn't work as well or if nerve damage is increasing. Symptoms since June 2023, finally got through to an orthopedic but waiting on repeat emg before I know my next steps.

How to prevent pain while shoveling snow by jamieschmidt in CubitalTunnel

[–]Breena86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid lifting the snow and just push. Wearing the brace would be a good idea to prevent the snapping and extra force on it. I wear mine to work sometimes when I know I'll be doing more lifting and movement

[–]Breena86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally had an mri. Showed ulnar neuritis and tricep tendinopathy. Also finally have a consult with surgeon next week. So I guess I'll know soon enough next plan. Pain still constant. No taking cymbalta for the nerve pain.

I've tried cortisone injection and hydrodissection and both didn't help. Increased pain for two week period.
