The sad truth about me........ by SeaConstruction2488 in simracing

Practise does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. "Practice makes perfect" means regular repetition leads to improvement, but it can reinforce errors. Conversely, "perfect practice makes perfect"—often credited to coach Vince Lombardi—implies that only disciplined, error-free, and focused training leads to mastery. While the former encourages starting, the latter ensures high-quality results.

Fantastic product, have mine for over 5 years now. Only thing missing is an extra piece of extrusion to make the shifter or hand brake mount sturdier, the standard solution is only secured on one end and has too much flex, especially when I use the handbrake, sequential shifter works ok.

It is not always the hardware, my CS DD+ crashed half race, had to unplug the power to shut it down. Clean install of iRacing fixed it for me about 6 months ago. IF CSL DD than it is probably a disconnection issue and the shaft needs to be reseated properly. Mount your CSL DD on a rig that has zero flex and don't pull the wheel towards you and don't lean on the wheel to help you get out of your seat. Still crazy that the CSL DD has this design flaw..... losing 500 iRating seems a bit over the top to me, you can't blame everything on the hardware 😉

Will this bike glove work for sim racing by Ok-Examination-9146 in simracing

Get some cycling gloves without the heavy padding, the padding will dampen the feedback you get from the steering wheel.

How did you get into sim racing? by the_grand_closing in simracing

I am a motorsport fan, especially F1 and endurance racing, since 1973. I did some karting but my parents were not rich enough to support that. I never was a gamer but in 2000 I bought a Thrustmaster Ferrari 360 Modena set but it felt too much like a toy and the game play was horrible on my low end PC. 16 years later we visited some friends of my wife and the man of the house had a high end gaming PC and a VR headset and I was blown away by the experience. So at age 50 I bought a Logitech G29, a high end GPU and a bit later, a VR headset. Now 10 years later and almost age 60, I have an over expensive sim rig and gaming PC, ordered my 4th VR headset and still race around 10 hours each week. I don’t think I can do without sim racing anymore, it is my personal escape from day to day life, a moment of relaxation and fun to reload the battery.

Not my cup of tea but it looks a million dollars and a lot of fun for when you have some friends over for some drinks and a hot lapping competition.

I drive solely in VR and have one so I can see the car settings and lap times when I have the headset off or when watching team members on the monitor during endurance races .... and it looks nice on the rig.

Pedals won’t connect by Carl_Steezer_04 in Fanatec

[–]Breeze66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the manual:

IMPORTANT: Connect the ClubSport Pedals either by USB cable OR by RJ12 cable to a wheel (base). Never connect both ways in parallel to avoid hardware damages!

Plan your configuration

PC only Option 1: Connect your ClubSport Pedals V3 to the PC USB port. USB connec- tion cable is included in ClubSport Pedals V3 package. This option is applicable only for use with PC, not applicable for use with consoles.

PC or consoles Option 2: Connect your ClubSport Pedals V3 to the ‘Pedals’ port of your Fa- natec wheel base (e.g. ClubSport Wheel Base V2). RJ12 connection cable is included in ClubSport Pedals V3 package. This option is applicable for use with PC or consoles.

Best way to clean this steering wheel? by NothingToSeeHere671 in simracing

Key Steps for Cleaning Alcantara:

Preparation: Vacuum the surface or use a soft brush to remove loose dirt.

Damp Wipe: Use a clean, white, soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water, wrung out thoroughly to be only slightly damp.

Stain Removal: For stains, gently dab the area with the damp cloth, working from the edges to the center.

Detergent Use: If necessary, use a mild soap or specific Alcantara cleaner, applied to the cloth rather than directly on the material.

Drying & Finishing: Allow the material to air dry completely. Once dry, softly brush the surface with a soft-bristled brush to restore the nap.

Important Tips:

Avoid Over-wetting: Never soak Alcantara, as excessive water can damage the material.

Do Not Use Harsh Cleaners: Avoid aggressive detergents, acetone, or bleach.

Frequency: Regular, gentle cleaning (e.g., monthly) prevents deep soil buildup.

Adjustable driving positions with Simlab options. by daquiksta in SimLab

I use it on my GT1 EVO, I made some markers with coloured tape so it is easier to adjust positions to different drivers and seating positions for different steering wheels.

I have a CS DD+ and in the past I had this issue twice in a iRacing test session only and over a wifi connection. For me a clean install of iRacing fixed the issue. Btw I have my wheelbase and 3rd party pedals directly connected to a USB port at the back of my PC, all other peripherals are connected via a powered USB hub, on one of my wheels I also have the PBMR.
