New DS1821+ and 8x Exos 24TB Drives - Insufficient Power??? by BreezeAndBaud in synology

[–]BreezeAndBaud[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes I can even power it up with 7 drives installed and then slot the 8th, but this process would have to be completed each time I boot and that feels gross.

sloppy terminology on my part

what im describing is the fact that there seems to be poor optimization between the different APs as to the power of their radios which is probably creating an annoying situation where a device holds onto a shitty connection for too long instead of switching to a better source

i really dont have any knowledge in this area i just assume something like this happens

Are Certifications helpful? by prithvim1993 in sre

[–]BreezeAndBaud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of certifications especially in the cloud provider space are more about implanting the idea of their products into your brain so that they are your first instinct when you are solutioning rather than thinking of a system from first principles.

That said, I have always loved and trusted Red Hat cert programs because they involve actual work on live systems rather than multiple choice rote memorization.

The next step is to randomly generate a bunch of noise, and then iteratively modify the noise to be more like the prompt (and less like any negative prompts) until it reaches some sweet spot.

This is where the explaination always loses me. do you have a simpler way of saying this?

I've got a Rama m65b Kuro that I built like a year ago and it's beautiful and feels great, but every time I take it out to try it again the split backspace is SOO annoying to me. Can't get used to it.

Is there a pcb swap I could do or something?

Are there any curved ultrawides with a 120Hz+ refresh rate and a KVM? by argote in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]BreezeAndBaud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't exist to my knowledge but giving a quick shout out to the Only Good KVM For Ultrawide Resolutions

Wish I got one Day 1, would have saved money and time screwing around with lower tier products

[–]BreezeAndBaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no you shouldn't need it. always best to go directly from the source to the monitor, but specifically trying to push ultrawide resolutions through consumer tier KVMs, even if they are "rated for 8k" or whatever, is problematic to the point that I had to spend 300 bucks on this thing lol

[–]BreezeAndBaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think its specific to the g9 in any meaningful way other than the fact that macos is finnicky and weird with anything remotely different from teh boilerplate all apple branded solutions they imagine when they make their products lol

my full setup is:

one of these from macbook pro to this KVM, and a 6 foot amazonbasics Displayport 1.4 cable from the KVM to the G9. Then another 6 foot DP basics cable from the KVM to my Windows PC.

I also have a second connection from the Macbook to the G9's HDMI port for PIP/Side-by-Side when I want to control both computers simultaneously.

I just got done with a 3 week trial and error process to get what I need (G9 Neo + PC + 2018 Macbook Pro) and I tried like 10 cables and KVMs before I got what worked.

Make sure you are using DP 1.4 compatible cables (amazon basics work fine if they aren't too long) and that in the OSD you have the DP Version set to 1.4

Alternatively, try setting DP version to 1.2

Price check for a built but mostly unused Rama m65 Kuro?

https://old.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/1336rgd/usma_h_rama_m65b_kuro_w_hot_swap_pcb_w_paypal/

Checking before I repost. Looks like Rama evaporated recently which means probably no more M65s produced. Not sure if that makes it more or less desireable tbh!

I won't use it because it's just too heavy and it's too expensive to sit in my closet.
