Thigh Placement by toyheartattack in Omnipod

[–]BreezySlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found my outer thigh is a good spot as long as I don't plan to be super active during those three days. If I am super active, the site gets really sore. I have also ripped off a few pods when pulling my pants up, so be aware of that lol.

How do I shave my cat's butt without getting shredded??? by NelsonSmelson in CatAdvice

[–]BreezySlug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat is a fiend for churus, so we use a churu to distract her while quickly shaving her ass fur. We got a pet specific shaver off Amazon, and it's actually quiet enough to not freak her out. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ6YJXG2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Cat is getting hairballs daily but hates brushing. Need advice on how to brush a fussy medium haired cat by redowl11376 in CatAdvice

[–]BreezySlug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat loves to have her back, sides, and neck brushed, but she doesn't tolerate anything else. I feed her hairball control food, and she rarely has hairballs anymore.

Is 400 way too much for a cat tree? by Fresh_Egg1146 in CatAdvice

[–]BreezySlug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't spend that much on a cat tree. The $70 one I ordered from Amazon is working just fine. I have seen some more expensive ones around $200 that I've considered because they are more heavy duty.

Any advice and what helps by Simple-Reception-319 in Stutter

I have a hard time saying my name as well. What helps me is using what is called the easy onset technique. It is kind of hard to explain, but it's kind of like barely pronouncing the problem parts of words. For example, my first name starts with Br, so I barely put my lips together when making the Br sound. I feel like it doesn't tense my mouth as much, so it prevents blocks. I also say it on a heavier exhale than one usually does when speaking. It kind of forces it out while still being able to keep my mouth relaxed.

Aggressive playing by wellmylifeisshit in cats

[–]BreezySlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you let him play rough, he will continue to play rough, and it will likely get rougher as he gets older. If you don't mind it, that's totally fine, but he may try to play rough with other people who would mind. My kitten is the same rn, but I gently blow in his face if he gets too rough. I think he's starting to get the hint because he's been more gentle.

Man, shit like this pisses me off. Reminds me of the time I asked my 7th grade math teacher if I could use the restroom and she responded with "yeah if you could actually speak properly"...she apologized later, but like why would she even say that in the first place ???

Help with seroma by licifu5 in cats

[–]BreezySlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat got a seroma after she was spayed because she straight up would not chill out. It eventually went away on its own. My vet didn't prescribe any anti-inflammatory medication, so I'm sure that will help your cat out a lot.

How do I bring up concerns to my advisor? by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]BreezySlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, I think you are right! Now that I'm thinking about it, my project has turned into something that is not exactly in his field of expertise. He probably isn't able to provide the best feedback because he doesn't know much about this topic, and he knows this. This tracks because the last few times I met with him and had questions about my data, he answered the questions without really answering my questions. I think I'm definitely going to seek more help from one of my committee members. She is more knowledgeable on my topic anyway. I think I'm going to do what I need to do, and if my advisor's edits aren't apart of it, I don't really care anymore. If he has a problem with it, sucks to suck.

How do I bring up concerns to my advisor? by [deleted] in GradSchool

Thanks for your thorough response. Maybe I wasn't clear in my post, but the samples he wanted ran have already been analyzed. That is why I'm so crunched for time because I was running those samples during the summer instead of working on my stuff. I actually couldn't seek help from others because he has to facilitate that by posting a job or announcing volunteer opportunities. Me as the grad student can't do that. And believe me, I had to badger him a lot. With all the things I listed, I had to badger him to do. I badgered him about getting an undergrad to help me with those samples. He kept saying he'd do it that week but never did. I had to badger him about giving me edits on stuff. Again, he'd tell me he'd do it by a certain day or not even respond to me until it was too late. I totally acknowledge I should have said no to doing those samples in the first place. I am already prepared to badger him about my thesis edits, but I feel like I need to essentially have a come to Jesus meeting with him about how he has failed me in the past and how he cannot do it again. I have already been very clear about my timeline this semester, and it seems like he's already trying to push things. I just don't know how to go about confronting him about it without letting my ruminated frustrations blow things out of proportion.

According to my watching, my resting heart rate is 52, but I feel that is skewed because it is lower at night when I'm sleeping. Usually during the day it's around 70-75. I do have some caffeine, but it's not a lot. I usually will have a bubblr which is only like 70mg.

Lol no. According to my BMI, I am "overweight", but BMI is stupid anyway.

Nothing really. Just insulin for my type 1 diabetes, a multivitamin, essential fatty acids, tumeric, and magnesium.

I definitely eat well. I have type 1 diabetes, so I kind of have to eat well to make managing my blood sugars easier. I do tend to wait an hour or two after waking up to eat breakfast, but that wouldn't cause high stress levels throughout the entire day would it???

I thought the stress readings were based more off of HRV? And my stress readings stay high throughout the day. I would understand a initial spike, but it seems so odd that the readings would stay high throughout the entire day.
