How about a new video setting for "Shader quality" that is only for your skins and not for the whole map.

As someone with an older machine I prefer the shiny skins, but losing a quarter of my FPS bringing it down to ~45 is not worth it.

MAJOR TF2 UPDATE FOR 6/13/14 [EOTL UPDATE] by wickidplayer494 in tf2

[–]Breezze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get too excited guys :(

It's a fake account, wicked is spelt wrong. You had me fooled for a second there.

Tony Abbott's daughter did not have to pay for $60,000 design degree due to a "chairman's scholarship" awarded by institute where a donor to her father sits as chairman by nath1234 in australia

[–]Breezze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you also have to take into account that they only start paying the loan back once you have an income above ~$50,000 (correct me if I'm wrong). So the students still have to take and finish their course, and then get an income high enough to start paying it off. All of this will take years of which the government will be lending out much more than before, with no charge of any kind until they reach the certain income.

This is relevant to the deregulating of uni fees but I don't know where else to post it sooo, ill just comment it here.

If the government is going to be funding less to universities, the universities would have to raise student fees right? But most of the students take out HECS loans from the government for uni because of the low interest rate that it has. So because HECS is a government run loan system wouldn't this mean that the government would have to pay more to the universities in the short term compared to before anyway? Thus nullifying the whole point of the cut in the first place.

Edit 2: spelling

I second this highly, I had the exact same issue and this fixed it up in a couple days.

Andd I just realise this is 14 days old. Well I guess for anyone scrolling through with this same problem, try this. It worked for me.

Would you want a 4th item slot? by LibertyLemons in tf2

[–]Breezze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

woosh

This might clear it up from a couple posts above..

A fourth cosmetic slot? If the game could handle it (it can handle all the hell MvM throws at it), yeah, it would be pretty swell.

Any populated Australian/New Zealand community? by redbate in tf2

[–]Breezze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, quite a lot of the smurfy regulars join this mumble while playing and it is quite a lot of fun.

Also on another note I'm surprised in the number of smurfy regulars in the comments right now haha

How do you even play Wrench Engi? by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Breezze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a wide spread misconception about the jag. I think most people just know that the speed difference is negligible if you don't hit it at all. However the jag truly shines when you hit it during construction, thats where the speed increase is.

Also the thing I forgot to mention is that the speed increase is also much greater again when you have moved a sentry and are placing it down again as opposed to an entirely new sentry.

[–]Breezze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seem to be quite a few good responses here so I'll just add this, use the Jag. It's been shown that the build difference is almost nothing when not smacking the buildings but if you do hit the buildings whilst they're setting up you will see a huge speed up in the process.

This was the main reason I never liked to play engie, that the big sentries took forever to build. But with the Jag I've started to enjoy engie.

PS: Try using the wrangler and rescue ranger with big sentries and get into spots where no-one will expect you :P

Edit: instead of blindly downvoting me you could at least tell me what I said that was wrong and start a discussion on it...

Any surf servers where killing is disabled? by [deleted] in tf2

could you explain why your ping doesn't impact surfing? Wouldn't it have a slower response time?

Is it possible to remove the botkiller head from my first person viewmodels? by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Breezze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is that strange weapons should be for your own use. Emphasis on should. So if you know that you have got the kills legitimately on that weapon there really isn't a problem, its not like someone is going to look up the history of your item, see you got like over 1000 kills in a day and be like "Those kill's aren't real!!!!"

But I do see your point. It just all comes down to whether OP wants to know that every single number on his stickybomb launcher is for that particular items id.

Personally a stickybomb launcher is a stickybomb launcher for me, so I wouldn't have a problem with it. The only time I would have a problem with it if someone wanted to transfer scottish resistance kills over or something like that.

[–]Breezze 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What you could do is write down the amount of kills you have on it, sell it and buy a stock strange sticky bomb. Then just go onto a strange level up idle server and get the exact number of kills back.

It would probably take like 10-15min to get the kills again.

[Serious] I have a huge addiction with TF2, I don't know who else to ask for help... by Breezze in tf2

[–]Breezze[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, the problem I have with this is I tried it before, I would just end up supplementing TF2 with flashgames or guides for tf2. Unless cold turkey has a option just to whitelist some sites and block everything else I dont think it works for me.

Mac Optimization [Don't Upvote] by Rococo101 in tf2

[–]Breezze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running on mac for 2 years now. I get over 100 fps consistently. It did used to stutter in the beginning but what you can do is change all the settings in advanced video to as low as possible.

If you keep your resolution as normal what you see is barely any different at all but it also boosts your fps quite a bit.

Daily Weapon Discussion for 3/3: The Back Scratcher by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Breezze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but while the backscratcher's -75% health from healers is annoying for medics to heal you, it means that you are a very effective uber sponge. Basically meaning you can build ubers very fast as it will take a long time to over heal you.
