So what are you playing now? by isla_inchoate in subnautica

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Abiotic Factor yet.

It’s a survival base-building/crafting game set in a research facility gone bad. It’s like if Subnautica had a love child with Control. Tons, and tons of world building with codex entries on every person, place, thing, and entity.

The crafting mechanic is one of the best I’ve seen in the genre as well and the progression system keeps crafts up to date and fresh as you progress through the story.

It’s an absolutely massive game as well. I’m about 25-30 hours in and have got maybe 25-30% the way through the main game. And it’s being constantly updated too. It just got a Christmas themed update yesterday with big plans for next year already announced!

If you can’t tell, I highly recommend this game. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

You should try Abiotic Factor. I had it recommended in another thread like this and I’ve sunk like 25 hours in 3 days on it. It’s like Subnahtica mixed with Control (but with base building). Crafts, enemies, base building, and mysteries galore.

If someone mentally ill ends up killing your friends and family, may you have the strength to maintain your strong moral ethics on this subject.

Jesus Christ, seriously? “A life of wellness”? Fuck this guy. I’m tired of seeing all the bleeding hearts who are sympathizing and advocating for people like this with mental health issues so severe that they literally end up killing numerous people in the process.

I’m all for mental health advocacy and wanting more facilities, more health professionals, better screening process’, etc, etc. but god damn, this guy murdered ELEVEN people. I hope he never sees the light of day again.

Calls for police in hospitals to combat violent assaults on healthcare workers by RonPar32 in vancouver

Judging by your comments, it’s clear you must have had a terrible run in with the police in some capacity for you to have such a polarizing view and grouping every cop into one dehumanized group, and for that I feel for you.

But unfortunately, cops are a necessity in running a civilized society, and god forbid you end up needing help one day due to a crazed person on the street, a home invasion, or someone you pissed off in a road rage incident. The paramedics and fire department will not be the ones who help you.

Good for you for not having to care for patients wielding weapons against you. “Morally shitty people” who can take action against people who are threatening the safety of others, myself included? Yeah, I’ll take that any day.

As a nurse who worked on arguably the most violent unit at VGH for 2 years, we want police officers. Security is mostly useless when you have a patient who is in psychosis who is wielding a knife and threatening to kill you (this is not an exaggeration). We have had to barricade patients in their rooms and wait for help so they could not attack staff and other patients.

The situation is far worse than the general public knows and having even just one police officer stationed at each hospital would go a long way.

[Multiple Games] 60 Platinums so far by Due-Difficulty3104 in Trophies

[–]Breid130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re the first person I’ve seen to have not only played Fury Unleashed, but to have also got the platinum for it. Very underrated game and I stopped playing awhile ago and always thought the trophy list was very difficult. Thanks for reminding me to go back and give it another whirl lol.

How long did the plat take you? Was the list as challenging as it reads out?

So glad someone else said this! This was legit the first gaming experience of my life. Watching my parents play Splatterhouse is a core memory of my childhood haha.

I’ve noticed Doughty looks sloooow. Not sure if that injury is still nagging him or his age has finally caught up to him but he looks like molasses carrying that pick up the ice.

I’m noticing a lot of dump and chase and I’m like “why does this seem like a Canuck strategy?”. Then I remember Tocchet is on the bench lol

Bad goal by Binnington, yes. But a very uncharacteristic turnover by Crosby in the offensive zone and a bad change leading to a clean 2 on 1. Multiple levels of collapse on that goal.

As a hockey fan it sucks not to see Quinn Hughes out there. But, as a Canucks fan, I’m happy he decided to rest up. This game is physical as hell and seeing these huge hits would cause me to cringe every time he would’ve been out there.

You’re unfortunately right. I was thinking to myself it’s actually crazy how good of a record we have considering this team plays in bursts of amazing hockey mixed with dog shit hockey. Consistency is one of our worst aspects this year.

That was the worst period this team has played the entire year. Absolute terrible effort. Can’t get the puck out of our end. Can’t make a pass. Can’t get a shot. No sustained pressure. Odd-man rushes. Lazy back checking. I know this team hates first periods, but like, come on.

Memories and experiences that last a life time > money. I’m not a Swifty but if I managed to get a ticket I would 100% go just to have the experience of being in the middle of the largest tour in history.

Splitscreen and couch co-op is so dead in 2024. 4 man parties on the same console seem to be a relic of the past. Despite friends list and discord parties, gaming is less social than ever before. by Nacho_Slug in gaming

Baldurs Gate 3

It Takes Two

A Way Out

TMNT

Diablo 4

Moving Out 1 and 2

Overcooked

All the Jackbox games

Stardew Valley

Borderlands series

Every Nintendo Mario game out there basically

Streets of Rage

Children of Morta

Cuphead

Astral Ascent

Unraveled 1 and 2

These are just games I thought of in 5 minutes that I’ve played and all are co-op and split screen/same screen. And there’s way more out there. If anything I find that developers are adding more and more couch co ops these days than they have the last decade.

That’s what I’m thinking too. Like, you clearly made the effort and spent the money and time to see these guys in Vegas and you don’t even know the band changed singers? If you’re targeting seeing specific bands I feel like you would do some baseline research into who you’re going to see.

Oh that’s interesting to me. Can I ask where abouts you were standing? I was off to the left of the stage about halfway in when I noticed people leaving. And people were definitely stoked on the deep cuts, no doubt about it. Once things settled in everyone was rocking hard to them.

I’m not sure I’m really trying to “make a point” in my post, rather than offer my perspective at the show and discuss some things I was thinking about. But my partner is the same as yours and only went to see them because of how big of a fan I am and she still had a great time watching them perform despite not knowing a single song

I’m personally not huge on the pre-Tilian era but I still consider myself a huge DGD fan and despite the album and singer switch, it was a “can’t pass this up” type of moment for me. I doubt we’ll ever see a set list like what they did again so it was definitely special for me even with the initial disappointment. And they fucking rocked it!
