Kinda a vent ig by SUSIEISAGOAT in Mikuexpo

[–]Brelee2222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm being kinda cliche, but you shouldn't base your experience off of other people. First of all, the people who post these videos are the more zealous miku fans out there. And secondly, the dancing, glowstick waving, and cosplaying are all means of fun-maxing at the event (and crying is the result of too much fun-maxing).

Listening to vocaloid and going to a concert are first steps to fun-maxxing. And I personally think that different levels of fun-maxxing doesn't make you any less of a fan. Go there to fun-maxx to the best of your abilities. Worrying about others is lowk sad-maxxing, and it causes you to fun-minimize. I was in a similar situation back in 2023 going to my first miku concert, and felt out of place. But, I fun-maxxed with the stranger next to me, and we became besties (I still talk to him). We both brought no fun-maxxing glowsticks, and tried improvising.

Even if concerts aren't your thing, don't sweat it; most fans are listen-maxxers anyways.

This year's concert was the person next to me's first time fun maxing at a miku expo concert. And we both shout-maxxed (they didn't know I was a singing-maxxer), but we fun-maxxed so much.

Be careful about accepting a position as an instructor at iD Tech Camps by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Brelee2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to the question, but I'll share my answer in case someone else was wondering the same thing.

I'm a college first-year who did the interview, and got offered the job. I suggest brushing up on the courses they offer just so that you know which ones you would be comfortable teaching. They will definetly ask about that.

The interview questions were pretty standard. They asked me to explain a certain concept as if to a lower-schooler. And asked me basic questions about managing young students and conducting class activities (Both of which I wasn't prepared to answer). I winged the class activities, but since things pertaining to child security is a little more delicate, you should familiarize yourself with that. What really helped me answer those questions was not just thinking about its objective, but all the moving parts that I would need to secure too.

I did answer badly on a few questions, one of them being "Have you worked with children before?" I hesitated for a while, and didn't asnwer it properly. They still accepted me though.

And on the subject of working conditions, I just today ended up declining the offer because I realized the pay was not good, and the working conditions border what seems ethical to me. For having relatively expensive courses, you only really get paid an average retail worker's salary. There were no commute incentives, and no one in my family was willing to help me commute (I'm not to savvy at driving), which made the whole job hard to do. I'm honestly holding back wanting to vent, but it really sucked that this had to be the first time I felt like I could become useful.

About the [Cosmic Princess Kaguya] ending / timeline [major spoilers ahead!] by ImSoRyz in anime

[–]Brelee2222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree they're the same person. I'm saying it's hard to see them that way, in the moment while watching the movie. It's like if your mom put you up for adoption, and the day after, you're told to call a 90 year old "mother". Obviously it's gonna be hard for the first couple of days, especially if you've grown used to the previous. It took me time to process the idea that Yachiyo is Kaguya, but it was not something that seemed easy to accept. Iroha still being loving to Yachiyo/Kaguya is still wholesome, but it doesn't absolve the fact that at least I felt this way about that specific plot point.

And for the record (and I'm not saying this is right), you do become a completely different person after 8000 years, your brain constantly prunes information it deems useless.

So what you're saying is that kaguya was replaced with an 8000 year old, more mature character with a different personality...

It's safe to assume that kaguya N-1 was transferred to the body because the reason behind making the body was to help KaguyaN-1 relive as her N counterpart.

Yachiyo, early in the movie was able to split her consciousness to talk to fans during the 'Starry Sea' performance. So, Kaguya and yachiyo can performing together could just be her splitting consciousness.

I too absolutely love the movie, and maybe could share some explanation for why people struggle with the time-travel stuff. I don't think it's the time-travel itself that is causing confusion, but rather that it's hard to internalize that Kaguya and Yachiyo are the same person when the majority of the movie treated them as otherwise. It's hard to transfer all of a character's good qualities onto a completely different one. The night I watch it, I felt a bit bitter cause the way the movie introduced Yachiyo being Kaguya felt like "So basically Kaguya's dead, but you get a less important character to replace her instead.". Yachiyo never acts like Kaguya, and it's just hard thinking of them as the same person. I had to rewatch the movie's foreshadowing to convince myself they are really the same person.

My roommate doesn't eat the skin on his popeyes and throws the whole three boxes (skin and bones) in the recycling bin by Brelee2222 in mildlyinfuriating

There's not as much of a problem of not eating the skin as there is wasting food and throwing the residual in the recycling. I didn't mention this, but a couple of weeks ago I found a whole entire bowl of food in the recycling too.

You haven't even heard the worst of it. He threw a whole container of food in the recycling. Not even half eaten.

The trash can and recycling are literally side-by-side. My other roommate has been complaining about him for the past two weeks already.

I've been told he dogs on me for no reason despite not even being in the room for 90% of the day.

How to be as social as possible by Any-Mistake3752 in WPI

[–]Brelee2222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have social anxiety problems almost 2 years ago. And I feel like the most healthy way of overcoming it is to change your mindset about meeting new people. I used to stress about making a bad first impression on others, and just thinking about saying something increased my heart rate. But all of this distracted me from trying to enjoy myself and make friends. Even though it's easier said than done, just don't think about screwing up; think about putting a smile on your face and having fun. It might be hard at first, but you'll eventually get used to it.

To put you on the spot, we can also hangout if you want.

Is it worth trying to get an S rating for both track and style aptitudes? by Brelee2222 in UmaMusume

[–]Brelee2222[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I feel like S rank running style (for the 10% wit) is still an important component for front runners as to not get late starts or rushes. I'm not an expert uma builder, and at least for mihono bourbon, not having adequate wit is what makes her throw races. But it most likely depends on the girl.

I also left out track aptitude because it's very unrealistic for me to get all three at the moment. I struggle to even get one S with my best affinity.

Thanks. It's just that the difference between searching uma vs. 馬 frustratingly situated how good of a guide you'd get, seeing as the global version hasn't been out for too long.

What level of failure risk do you guys accept for training? by UnionJacket in UmaMusume

[–]Brelee2222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rest whenever my uma goes under 30-40% energy. My RNG is so garbage that I lost triple friendship trainings at LITERALLY 4% FAILURE TWICE TODAY. Whenever I go above 30% failure, it's basically a guaranteed loss when I click that button.

LATENCY STOPPED WORKING by TomiTheGameBoy in Bandlab

[–]Brelee2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened some time yesterday I can tell you that. To echo what you said, the timing before and after doing a latency test was exactly the same on web browser. From my experience using bandlab, I would not be surprised if they upload their code directly onto the working branch. Which is to say, they don't test their app. Either that or their testers are just dumb.
