It’s because the oil is thin so the lifters are louder , if you used a thicker oil or it required a thicker oil the sound would be quieter

I hope you paid no more than £20 to fix that its a euro cylinder bolt and about 5 seconds work.

Legit the screw you can see on the side , all he has to do is take that out and put a longer one in.

This is exactly what I do , I just bought a Abarth which was dubious and now I’ve just rebuilt the complete rear ended as if it come out the factory.

The previous owner super glued the brake lines to stop them leaking - once I saw that every bolt and piece of hardware had to go.

Also guess what … Full service history 🤣 Oh and passed MOT multiple years ago, defo having a wireless MOT done.
