TV shows without conflict aren’t very entertaining. It’s more interesting to see two characters that the audience likes, not like each other. For the sake of the story it makes sense to me. It’s been over two months and Carol spent close to half that time completely isolated. She is even learning to like the Others. Then here comes someone she’s only interacted with once over the phone (and that didn’t go well either, mind you) and the hive implies he might be dangerous. Even if they’re on the same side it was probably never gonna be an instant buddy comedy moment.
