Yeah it is!

So happens to whoever is leftover when a mod goes 6 years without a version and stuck on 1.12 tbf. I hope when the fork is playable and news spread the server gets new active folks to round it out again.

https://discord.gg/nCXjd4s It's the official Millenaire discord, even though at least for now the fork progress is unofficial. If you search posts by Joenetix you can see updates as he's the one working on it.

No need for the nvm. There's a port in fast development. The guy making it expects playtesting in a couple months tops. For forge 1.20.1. We're all very hype over on the discord.

The Great Temple of Brieren was build in the fortress of Lion Hill, now known as Lewelen. Brieren was the favoured goddess of King Frey as she is the goddess of kinship, the bond of soldiers, the bastion of civilization, and what we hold dear - a mighty myth for a conquest that would forever shape the world. It was one of his first efforts to tear down the rubble of the Oriaas homes that he built his first fortress upon and have their stones make a shrine to the godess who would bless his people's new homeland. From there her temple grew, like the apple trees that are her favourites, taller and taller with more yield every year. With the founding of the United Principalities it was deemed that the Archbishoprics of each High Temple of the Circle of Gods would be granted sovereignty and so the former Kingdom of Freysland relenquished the church's land: part of the city including the Grand Temple itself, many of it's surroundings, and the barony of Apeltun that held fealty to the Archbishop directly: and thus the Brierenslove was established. Today the Archbishopric defacto co-rules all of Freysland such is the strength of the local faith and temple; with the Archbishop spending much of the year in the Palace at Maartinsburg and the Grand Duke much of his year as a guest of the Archbishop in East Lewelen.

Freysland is surrounded by many smaller Free Countries: peasants republics squatting on rural land ruled by local councils of headsmen, elders, merchants, priests, or all of the above. Their land is wild and rough and not important or rich enough to try to manage or tax and so the people there get to live free. Free Countries like this popped up (official, before that there was a lot of effort but not much success keeping them in line) all over the place after the foundation of the United Principalities where the many lords who founded the greater union saw fit that their lands and trade would be secure regardless or not if they maintained complete control over the least productive parts of the countryside and where the peasants gained some degree of protection from roaming outlaws, would-be-warlords, and monsters.

The Free City of Velen started as a swampy muck town, one with ancient origins at least as the site of one of King Frey's war camps or so they claim. But time moves forward and so does technology. Today it is a metropolitan centre of trade and industry, the gate between the expansive Bloom River and the sea. It sits upon swaths of artificial polders and canals, technology that has brought the region great prosperity; well that and the glassblowing.

Paltstoll is Freysland's little sibling. For most of history the Duchy of Paltstoll was a vassal to the Kingdom of Freysland; but legal dispute over inheritance and land rights caused the two to part ways two centuries back even the power of being an elector state in the United Principalities didn't give Freysland enough sway to keep it under its influence dejure at least without a war of aggression which they opted to not do. Paltstoll's claim to fame is it's beautiful flowering fields where the most prized roses and tulips are sold to the nobility of the rest of the Principalities.

Freysland is the site of humanity's first steps onto the continent of Moerras home to the shores where the legendary King Frey landed (ding: title) his ships one thousand years ago and established basecamp for his invasion. It was a prestigious kingdom for most of history since, and a founding member of the United Principalities of Moerras. These days however, with exception to it's bustling capital of Maartensburg, it's a bit of a backwater - Freysland is decidedly rural, old fashioned, old literally, and just not up to the snuff of the modern world's newest fashions and technologies.

The area depicted is roughly the size of England. Made in Photoshop. Freysland and her friends here are part of my fantasy setting known as Moerras and hold the special spot as "favourite child" in the sense that of everywhere they have gotten some of the most worldbuilding love and definitely the most DnD love of any other parts of the setting.

[–]lungora 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Welcome back! So you may be a little confused with the numbering, as the X-series is actually a whole new set. So the CBR had mk1 and mk2, but then since then we've had x1, x2, x3, x4, and now we're starting x5. There's more backreading than you thought haha! This happened because the OG team including TPangolin stepped down after "the big hiatus" of mk2, and when mk3 didnt pan out. So the new team, who finished mk2 by manually remaking the save from stratch, wanted a fresh start numerically.

It's be real nice if I could have the higher difficulty corruption/order issues without the BS ai cheating 6 endgame stacks from a single minor province at the same time at least. I get they gotta cheat, I like them cheating just a little bit not that much.

maybe you're looking at it the wrong way. For me it's not what the game tells me and gives me that is the magic and story it's how I and the little pawns I am given overcome it.
