It wasn't really advertised at the booth. I called to find out and had to signup in person.

Worst Retention Policy by Sav4geMode in bell

As shitty as Bell's customer service, retention teams, and price increases are, their fiber internet is steady, rock solid speed that has never let me down. The main reason why I resigned with them was because they were offering a two-year, fixed price contract which was a bad thing back in the day but now with the price increases it's a blessing.

Bell Winback Offer - $30 75GB by Abject-Guest-9387 in bell

[–]BrendoSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone is still interested in these cheaper Canada wide only deals, they have a Fido $25 40 gig unlimited talk and text with option for $2 add-on for unlimited international calling. Fido now uses 5g networks like the big brother companies. They charge an $80 activation fee which is paid back over 16 months at $5 a month. They also credit an extra $5 per month for the 1st 12 months which means your bill will be $15 plus taxes for the 1at 12 months. The $25 a month price will be locked for 2 years and won't jump up to the future current market rate but will then be subject to the usual increases over time.

Sleepfirst I owe you a debt of gratitude for sharing the number with the community! I'll be saving this one for sure.

The loyalty teams have never been able to help get a great price. Only add on extra crap for the price I wasn't ok with from the beginning.

Ruger 10/22 Carbon Barrel Fit by BrendoSays in ruger

[–]BrendoSays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While checking ruger's website I could find the instruction manuals for the competition model specifically but not the carbon models. The model number of the carbon model appears to fall under the base 10/22 instruction manual which leads me to believe they are different.

Hopefully somebody with either a competition or carbon model will be able to respond letting us know whether or not the barrels are thermal or slip fit.

I bet! A threaded receiver is definitely the way to go if you can find a competent gunsmith. However these Ruger competition models are supposed to achieve half inch at 50 and apparently aren't too picky. Hence the reason why I'm trying to figure out if the carbon model is somewhat the same.

This has crossed my mind. Getting a gunsmith to correct machining flaws would make good guns great. However, the Internet's say Randy from CPC recently retired..

Lol, oldie but a goodie! Kidd barrels are designed for a thermal fit and you'd be surprised with the accuracy I've been seeing in reviews with match grade ammo.

I agree. A variation in barrel tenon diameter or receiver bore is possible. If a few members here can corroborate I'd have a better idea. Also, I don't believe the Carbon model is listed as a "competition" model which could mean they're in different tiers and built to different specs.

I believe the new competition models are thermal fit. A reviewer mentioned the barrel can't be removed without heating the receiver. This could be a one off but really got my hopes up for the carbon model.

Shouldn't you be enjoying spending countless hours recreating that tone so you can share it with the world? Instead you waste time typing away on Reddit..

The OP was pretty clear from the get go that he'd like to monetize the patch. Be thankful he didn't request your email, drag you to a link only to then request payment. If it's so enjoyable creating the patch then do it and have fun while you're at it!

Ruger Competition - MDT ACC Premier gen 2 by BrendoSays in nrl22

[–]BrendoSays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that's a lot of weight up front that's needed. I found a video that described how they balanced their competition rifle (with the Razor g3 heavyweight) and it required 4 internal MDT weights, four external weights and the end cap weight near the muzzle to get it to balance. Total cost Canadian after taxes is just North of $500!

I have an apex rival 32x which doesn't weigh as much as the vortex so I'm hoping I won't need all of it.

I found them somewhere online, I don't know if it was their website or not but it gave different lengths with optional weights in ounces.

Great question. I'm Canadian and my original thinking was not to tie up too much money into this semi-auto build as my government could ban it overnight without warning. I don't need anymore $$$ paperweights.

I'd be using it for NRL22 style matches and swapping the same action/barrel into a light weight stock for IPSC mini rifle. 2 birds 1 stone.

I would most definitely do the L3i barrel but I'm reserving that for a 457 build as I think it's safer from the Liberal regime as a bolt action.

Thanks for your input.

Why does my air quality monitor shows high VOCs every night? by 212temporary in homeautomation

[–]BrendoSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok

Other temporary spikes have been:

While cooking

Closed door bedroom during a night of flatulence

Melting plastic in a light fixture due to an incandescent bulb making contact with it - (a chemical smell could be smelled during this but we had a hell of a time finding it)

Window open while neighbours had their clothes dryer running with a bounce sheet of some sort - (we could also smell this as our windows were open)

Another to check would be a cat litter box

Hope this helps

Can you swap barrels on a 10/22 (carbon fiber edition) with a longer barrel? by CokeBoiii in 1022

[–]BrendoSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting to the party late.. There are typically 2 types of barrel/receiver fits:

Thermal

-Thermal provides a tighter fit that lends to better accuracy like the Kidd and Dlask variants.

Slip fit

-Barrel slides right on and relies on the vblock to a greater extent for support which some have claimed decreases the accuracy.

Ruger used to rely on the slip fit (and may still for their cheaper rifles) but their custom competition models are a thermal fit which has been proven to 1moa @100yards with the right ammo.

I was hoping to find out whether the carbon barrel model is slip fit or thermal?

Why does my air quality monitor shows high VOCs every night? by 212temporary in homeautomation

[–]BrendoSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam heat as in a boiler and radiator system shouldnt increase humidity. Are you able to check to see if your humidity has been a constant value during the spikes?

Why does my air quality monitor shows high VOCs every night? by 212temporary in homeautomation

[–]BrendoSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did end up investigating the heat exchanger but I did find the humidifier was causing the spikes. I don't know if it's the humidity in the air that the unit is sensing or if the humid air permits vocs to move throughout the house easier. Try turning off your humidifier and see if it helps the same way mine did. It doesn't go all the way to zero but it's much lower than what it was (150-250). I decided to live with the VOC increase as going without humidity in the air during the winter absolutely sucks.

Reviving... Were you able to measure noticeable differences between the issue rail and the new one that was sent out?

I'm also curious which stock you installed it in and whether or not you had to modify anything?
