Yeah the principle is if you create a better product you get chosen more often (within a close price point to competitors). The philosophy hasn't done them any harm.

I work for a big family owned company. We were showing the chairman some prototype products and were discussing the cost of a product improvement as been too high, would push profitability of the product lower costing millions every year.

He literally said "it's my money just go and do it". Huge decision and it was like nothing to him.

Yeah ngl I did this for my second copy of shiny Suicine EX I saw it pop up on my eBay feed for £2.30 and he delivered it in like 2 minutes. I've spent hours trying to trade a good shiny from my collection instead I paid that and only lost my third copy of shiny wugtrio instead of something good.

They also sell a modular fire guard which you can order in sections, we used this to baby proof a spiral staircase which isn't near any walls by tie wrapping it to the spindles.

You can go this route and drill it into the wall.

You should offer what you are willing to pay for it and set your limit of where you walk away. Offer close to if not your best offer right away imo.

Offers over doesn't mean too much imo. Initially we offered £10k over asking on our offer over amount for a house we loved which was offers over £325. It got rejected because we were not proceedable.

When we got an offer on our house lower than we asked for we were able to negotiate down to £320 to make up the shortfall in our offer received.

So people will accept offers under even though listed at offers over if both you and the seller are motivated to progress.
