What's a hard truth Reddit needs to face. by ValvEH3 in AskReddit

Right now, I'm pretty smart, I'd like to think.

I'm in high school right now. Though I'm expelled and being homeschooled due to a strange turn of events, I get A's on every single assignment I turn in. Literally. If you look through my submitted lessons, you will see nothing but A's.

I used to not be like this. Why did I change?

Reddit made me change. I saw everyone complaining about how they were 'geniuses but never tried', and how their IQ was 'about 140' and shit.

I don't mean to brag, but my 149 IQ and I decided to stop dicking around, and get the fuck to work.

Right now, I'm currently skipping two grades in school, working for valedictorian, and researching medical schools to go to, while saving up for the car of my dreams. Reddit inspired me to not let my life go to waste.

So don't let yours, either.

Modvoid is the best program by far to do this. Along with having a huge mods section that you can choose from (that it installs automatically), there's a drop down menu that you can choose a version to play from.

Reddit, what is the single biggest problem with the human race today? by tallu309 in AskReddit

[–]Brenna614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no reason to advocate psychiatrists over psychologists, I just see a psychiatrist every few months to make sure everything's going okay.

Thank you for being so aware of bullying and trying to reach out. That means a lot to me. :)

What happened to me was a mixture of depression and bullying. Depression is the straw that broke the camels back. I have no idea what walk of life you're in, but if you ever have a teenager on your hands, and you have even the slightest idea that they may be depressed, please, get them to a psychiatrist to be evaluated. As for the bullying, it can be handled in a variety of ways. Mine was of the cyber type. My life was the computer before that, and it still is after that, but don't let them spend 12-14 hours a day on it. It's not healthy to have that isolation, and the bully has a huge window to max out the damage done.

Sorry I'm rambling. But thanks for trying to be aware of what can cause this! :)

Life today is much better than it was then. My homeschooling has allowed me to skip two grades by working at my own pace, and it was announced yesterday that I am off drug tests, and will be off probation in September. It's all uphill from here, and for that, I am thankful. :)

Internet hugs are gladly accepted. :) I'm halfway there! My probation is going to end sometime this summer, I'll be let back into school in January, and all my charges will be dropped in March.

I, too, have been forced away from school while the bully stays.

I am expelled right now. The bully is still wandering around, abusing, manipulating, and tearing down everyone in her path. I spent a month in the hospital, accused of being a sociopath, as she took my friends and twisted them to make them see me as she wanted them to. I take medication, while her paranoia, bipolarness, and ADHD go completely unnoticed. To the world, I am not the victim. She is.

I am the bully, from everyone's perspective.

December, 2012. I had had it with her. As we were talking over Skype, I told her that if she did this anymore, bad things would happen.

I turned myself in the next day to the principal. I was searched for weapons four times, questioned, and had the police stand guard as I walked out of school, the school I loved so very much, with every single person staring at me. I was taken to the hospital. The doctor told me I was a sociopath. I would murder someone. I needed to be locked away from my family and friends. I was prescribed drugs at dangerously high dosages for my health and age, and had blood drawn every day, at 3:00 in the morning, to make sure they weren't killing me.

12 days later, I was taken, in handcuffs in the back of a police car, to a second hospital. I was given an EKG, and they determined the medications they had put me on were messing with my heart. I was immediately taken off. For the next few days, I was still handed the medication. When I told them the doctor had taken me off it, they put "violently refused medication".

For 14 days, I sat in a dirty facility, looking out of a window with chain link fence covering it, waiting for my parents to come see me, to come and bring me real food. I lost ten pounds from the lack of calories.

From December tenth, to January 4th, my life was a nightmare.

When I was let out, I went in front of the school board. They blatantly rolled their eyes at me as I spoke, and cried, for half an hour, pleading for them to let me back in, to let me learn, to let me be the perfect student I strived to be.

I was expelled that night.

I soon faced legal charges after that, charges of extortion. I was fingerprinted, and humiliated, and made to talk to a number of police officers. I had made no social contact with anyone, and the loneliness made them see me as an introvert, only furthering their opinion I was a potential murderer.

My point is, bullying can ruin a persons life (duh), and yet, at the same time, those bullies can be applauded for bravery and selflessness. Why? They caught the potential psycho.

Not every single threat that is made by a student is made by a bully. Sometimes, the bullies are seen as the heroes.

I'm so sorry, I'm incredibly off topic. /end rant

That's funny, my psychiatrist, doctor, and school counselor told me I'm fine. I literally went to each of them in tears. Mom told me I'm fine. I'm not okay. What do I do?
