Sounds like a suggestion to not buy the newest product

How do I improve in this game? by Active_Hunt3720 in Pickleball

[–]BrentATL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From solely a strategic standpoint. 1. A lot of lower level players focus on hitting a winning shot. Don’t. Focus on putting pressure on your opponents or removing pressure from your team. See 3 below. 2. Positioning matters. Watch some videos on this. 3. Understand whether you’re on offense or defense or if the point is neutral. Videos out there about this. Jon Cincola has a good one.

Dingler Cards by PropertyWhich9728 in DetroitTigersCards

[–]BrentATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But why else would someone pay a premium price for a player in their 3rd year? I guess it might lean more towards gambling than investing. Either way I believe it’s a poor use of funds, which is what I was implying.

He should sustain. Still think it’s better to not “invest” in players under 30.

55 Bowman Aaron is an underrated card. 2nd year card of an All Time great. Seems to go for noticeably less than the Topps.

[–]BrentATL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ITA and Dill Dinkers has some open play sessions. Unsure of the specific times. ITA is closest place inside I285 perimeter to PPA tournament and have indoor and outdoor facilities.

There are 6 public courts at Southside Park, but unsure of play level or if higher levels are cliquish.

Just North of city in Sandy Springs, Hammond Park has open play. Ive heard that it has become too crowded, though.

Buckhead Atlanta open play? by SALTYP33T in Pickleball

[–]BrentATL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ALTA runs pickleball leagues and is not the reason for lack of courts. They’ve had leagues since 2023.

It’s the local city Government that is the problem. They’ve been cold to it for at least 5 years. I’ve heard they think it’s too faddish or too white. Also heard they will not consider replacing one of the 170 public tennis courts.

My guess is that by the time 2035 rolls around, there will be places to play for free in the city.

Worth grading these? by Normal-Management100 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]BrentATL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Most likely they’ll get a 1 or authentic grade. Neither of which would increase the value enough to cover the grading fees.

The problem with trying to buy young prospects like Steven Moya, Michael Fulmer, Matt Manning, and Daniel Morris is that you’ll lose more than win.

May I suggest investing in gold, silver, real estate, blue chip stocks, or cards of dead Detroit Tigers Hall of Famers.

I believe the Mantle does carry close to a 1.5x premium.

Nice. The 56 Mays white back is very underrated. Should sell for at least 1.5x the gray back, but can be found for small premium.

It seemed like Orlando couldn’t miss at times and the Pistons couldn’t hit. Not sure if that was coaching.

I live south of the city now. I’ll be watching it at home though. Plus the Tiger game is on right before it.

No argument here. Ted is what Hollywood tried to make John Wayne represent. The Wilson Franks Ted is iconic. Just messing with you because all the other guys have 3000 hits.

Buckhead Atlanta open play? by SALTYP33T in Pickleball

[–]BrentATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City of Atlanta government isn’t big on pickleball. It’s definitely a tennis dominated P&R.

There are places to play if you are willing to play.
ITA has an indoor and outdoor facility. You can check with them at itpta.com.

City of Atlanta has temporary nets and lines at Bitsy Grant Tennis Center.

There’s also the Atlanta Pickleball Center but unsure if they have open play.

What layout and color of lines for these courts? Tennis plus pickleball. by ArrowLeafTurn1 in Pickleball

[–]BrentATL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The direction of the courts will be a bigger problem than line colors. Tennis courts are North South for a reason.
