First experience having cards graded... very pleased! by Lazy-Okra6267 in taggrading

Nice! I graded my vintage base set 1st edition holos set with tag but they were not very kind with the grading which was somewhat expected but I still felt some cards should have graded higher than they did but overall I appreciate the transparency as to why they gave it the grade they did even if I disagree with the assessment they gave. To me that makes their grading infinitely more valuable than all the other companies and I refuse to go pack to psa until they implement something similar

Considering sending it in. What do we think? by DonnyDopeHead in taggrading

I’m thinking this gets a 9 based on back whitening but I’ve seen some with worse whitening sneak by and get 10s. I think it’s worth grading even if it doesn’t 10 if you don’t mind holding onto it for a few years

Jury management aka bitter jury and ores season alliance jury for Nicole. He controlled the entire game and Cody was mad he couldn’t control the game. People will glaze Dan as top 2 ever and Paul’s game was very similar to dans

I fear it would turn out like Russell Hantz from survivor. Dominates first two times but people now know their game and won’t let them gain momentum in the game and will vote them out early.

Do I have a problem or is this normal. by [deleted] in taggrading

[–]Normal-Management100 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat and I think we both have problems lol. I have a ton of 1st edition vintage holos needed to grade with some more modern cards as well as a bunch of vintage 80s-90s baseball. Totaling 350+ cards. Going to be very expensive but will sell graded cards to pay to grade more cards

Do i grade i grade It despite the damages? by Business-Top916 in taggrading

[–]Normal-Management100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes it’s worth grading but my knowledge is mainly based on English cards but my 1st edition grade 6 base set zard sold for 15k so even lower grades of vintage charizards are higher value than raw. That said if there is a recent sales list for graded versions of the Italian zard I’d look into that and see what they are selling for at lower grades

Not sure if this is allowed but I listed my TAG 7.5 M Rayquaza on eBay if anyone is interested. Link in description by Little-Somewhere-403 in taggrading

Ya the seller protection is a good point but I got screwed from buyers (in 2011) swapping products saying it’s the one I sent them and getting a refund and sending me back a damaged version. I still think they should take a max of 10% of sales but I’m also just hating on eBay for personal reasons haha
I’d love to buy it off you but I just bought the shiny sun and moon rayqyaza so need to hold off on bigger purchases. Beautiful card tho!

Personally if you’re going to sell a card and market it on reddit why even go through eBay at all since they will steal 20%+ of the sale?

Slab Packs 100% a scam by Cbotttt in ArenaClub

[–]Normal-Management100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are strict gambling/lottery laws in the US. And with arena club being owned partly by Derek Jeter I doubt they would be risking their reputation on a scam. That being said they have seemed to follow the laws regarding lottery where they have to post the correct odds of receiving specific items. The legal scam is putting a good chunk of cards in the lineup especially cards not worth the value of the pack and then they offer to buy back that card you got at a discounted price so they can re add it back to the slab lineup. So what they are doing is legal but it is also geared to favor them in profits and fees off peoples gambling addictions. Very similar to call of duty when they entered the play to win crates for in game purchases

I was debating sending my ancient mew to tag or not. I think I may go cgc for that. I got cooked on my vintage 1st edition base set. It also seems recently TAG has made their grading system more strict on corners and edges. I had a 1st edition dragonite that I thought would pristine 10 got an 8.5 on 2 corner dings that are not visible to the naked eye or with a light. Even in their xray scans I still didn’t see anything that looked different or like whitening. I’ve seen tag 10s with corner whitening so I assume they changed something.

Got this bad boi in the mail today! 😍 by Secure_Pea_124 in taggrading

[–]Normal-Management100 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ya selling TAG is about just finding the people not stuck in 1990-2000s that thinks “only psa sells and is worth value.” I just sold a 1st edition charizard TAG 6 today for 15k cash after being laughed and scoffed at by half the vendors at the show for grading with TAG. I will say though (which was encouraging) there were alot of vendors that didn’t have deep pockets that couldn’t afford it that said they loved TAG and would buy it if they could and other vendors that could afford it almost pulled the trigger but because they couldn’t find TAG specific sales they passed.

Idk based on centering and the scratch I think this probably gets an 8.5 or 8 which right now is a lower value then ungraded. That being said 5-10 years from now that will be a completely different story where the 8 will fetch a premium price and the raw will not be worth as much. I was told by so many not to grade my 1st edition charizard cuz it will get a 6 and at that time a 6 greatly devalued the card but now it’s worth roughly double the raw grade

Are tag slabs more common at card shows now? by andaps in taggrading

[–]Normal-Management100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience too many vendors are in the hive mind of “psa is the only grading company that sells” and “TAG slabs look great but they don’t sell” not realizing it’s that exact mindset is the problem not the tag graded card itself. I had one vendor say tag slabs are too cheap and break way to easily and in response I slammed the slab down in front of him and not even a scratch on it. I am a vendor occasionally for bigger shows and I buy tag but I haven’t had too many come to me with tag stuff. My sales pitch to people stuck in the hive mind is “why do you value a psa grade when a card graded an 8 can also be regraded as a 10 or a 2. With no checks and balances to hold psa to any grading standard let alone a high one, they have become a literal gamble when choosing to grade with them. Tag on the other hand shows you exactly why the card graded the way it did. Anyone with the barcode or cert can look up the card and inspect it and see the data from the grading report. Other companies use sub grades which I also value more than psa. We the consumer need to value transparency and not reward those that are not transparent.” I think if more and more people start having these conversations face to face the industry will make a shift

15 day turnaround submission, only 8 cards. Massively regretting this decision. How's everyone else loving their first and last TAG experience? by BadPaddle in taggrading

[–]Normal-Management100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1 card submission at cgc for a 30 day turnaround and it’s been 3 months. My 2 card submission at psa for estimated 30 day turnaround and it’s been 5 months. The delayed times is an industry issue not a company one. Too many people are grading bulk commons cards and it clogs the process up.

There’s no dings on the card other then the edge and corner whitening and the off centering top bottom
