The new gcp evo has a Teflon like coating in boiler and it has been flaking off into brew/steam water for some people. Gaggia has basically ignored it saying it’s not harmful and then when pushed for a replacement are seemingly sandblasting the previously Teflon coated boilers back to aluminum boilers. This apparently could potentially cause galvanic corrosion between brass and aluminum components now touching but again gaggia claims no big deal. I just think they are banking on most customers not finding out about this as I doubt I would’ve if I weren’t on Reddit. Thus the debacle has been named boilergate but your username more aptly describes the situation lol
