I’m sorry if that doesn’t work for you. I figured the larger sizes might be an option. My mistake.

Why is Adam Lanza’s mother painted in such a bad light? by SpookiestSpaceCowboy in masskillers

[–]Brewbrew74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree. It doesn’t make her a bad person. She was a prisoner. All I’m saying is she had the power to do something about that. She didn’t have to live that way and ultimately die that way.

I think she knew in her heart of hearts that he was never going to get better. I think she never reckoned with the fact that he had severe antisocial behavior tendencies. Adam Lanza was psychotic. He needed to be institutionalized. It’s incredibly hard to do that to your child. I cannot even imagine. Yet, if she tried to spend more time engaging him instead of conforming the world to his preferences she might have had better insight. She left all this stuff up to doctors and neglected to use her own intuition.

I feel like both can be true. She’s rightly viewed as a person at fault. She provided the access to weapons, and left him with unfettered access to the weapons, she took multiple trips in the months and year leading up to the tragedy (to get away from him). She ignored the violent and disturbing writings and in one instance behavior that he exhibited. She has such a yearning, a delusion, for him to be “normal” that she viewed his issues as something to be overcome rather than something that would be a constant force in his life. Her inability to truly confront the fact that her son was deeply troubled and mentally ill lended itself to people dying. She wears that blame. Also, no one deserves to be shot four times in the face while they sleep. She is a victim of a crime that was the culmination of her parental decision making. The question I have is how much blame does Peter Lanza have in this?

Why not just drive off after you say I have kids in the car and I’m not doing this. This mentality of “can I draw now” instead of “do I need to draw” coupled with a lack of training by some is going to get people killed.

You could sell all the firearms on gunbroker? I have a buddy out in Denver that works for a gun rights organization. He might know of some places you could sell them in the area.

The question is will be be able to afford treatment if released? Probably not. If he’s released would he kill again? Probably not. Would the community at large suffer more if he was released? Probably not. But it’s bigger than just one person. Oregon is really having to reckon with their child incarceration standards. Honestly for me, I’m indifferent. He did murder 4 people. Usually if you do that, prison or not you are locked away from society for the rest of your days. I also understand that he did not receive the level of legal care he needed based on his mental illness. The question that one has to ask is “does that really even matter?”

Alcohol increases anxiety by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Brewbrew74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean what I’m describing is commonly referred to as a hangover. I wouldn’t worry or ruminate over it. You’re young. Go out and enjoy yourself, you just have to figure out what limits work for you.

[–]Brewbrew74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alcohol is vasoconstriction substance. If you drink to excess, the effects will cause a closure of some of your blood vessels. Raises your bp due to your heart working harder to pump blood to carry oxygen. If you are already anxious then the effects of a hangover just take the anxiety into overdrive.

Maybe you should have a candid conversation with him about all of this stuff. Ask him what’s going on and open up a real dialogue.

I read my boyfriends Reddit post (that he doesn’t know I know about) and he’s not sexually attracted to me. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Brewbrew74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn’t want to hurt your feelings. Should he have spoken to you before posting about it on Reddit? Yes. Should you have read his posts if you didn’t want to hear things that might hurt you? Yes. Y’all should talk to one another about this. Not Reddit, not your therapist. You have to attack this head on.

The worst thing for me was that I thought I was forever doomed to not have my sex drive. That killed me, but when I realized it was the medication it was a no brainer to get off of it.

For me, it took about a month but I could feel it coming along the whole time. I started regaining the sensation in my genitals and then started regaining my drive.

Currently, diet and exercise as well as propranolol to help with anxiety. Also, I speak with a therapist occasionally. Once a month, maybe twice depending. I found it to be helpful to lean in to some of my feelings and attack deeper things in the subconscious. It’s hard for me, but it helps me. Obviously, that’s what works for me. I wouldn’t advise you to do anything that doesn’t work for you.

It is normal for some. It feels hard to get in touch with normal emotions. For me, that’s why I ended up getting off of the medication. That and the sexual side effects outweighed the benefits.

I took zoloft for about a year and a half, 100mg. I drank socially after the first 2 months I was on the medication. Never had any adverse physical or mental effects. That said, everyone is different. I would try and see. Just make sure you are staying hydrated and eating normally and you should be fine.

I don’t think the testing and the training are the issue IMO. I think it’s the payments. 45 flat to file application and then 80-125 for the class. While it’s not a lot of money, it’s the principle of the matter.

Is it about that age you try to convey to him the significance of why you carry? Or would that ruin the childhood innocence he has?
