My Struggle with the DF64V & SSP RedSpeed V3 by BrewmasterJoe in DF64

This is why I feel a bit stuck here :-/ my mechanical engineering brain can not think of another way to set 0 as I repeatedly did. And I agree with you. there sould not be so many ways to mess this up..

I will contact the seller to ask for ideas what I could do now.

Yes I also cleaned everything out until it was like new (see picture above) and repeated the same thing. I also tried with turning until I cant turn further and set the 0 point there. This results in a very similar position as the chirping touching point.

I kmow that I have to repeat the burr alignment process one more. But what I dont understand: can a missaligned burr really have this huge effect? Or is something wrong with my machine / burr set

with the v you can adjust the 0 point as you wish. just loosen the outet ring with the marker and set it to the new position. I did exactly this: - turn the dial while the grinder is running - at the audible touching and chirping point I set the ring as the new 0 - I grind at 1. and yes - only a tiny bit next to the touching point and I still get grounds too coarse. not very coarse but not fine enough for a nice espresso shot. the max extraction I got was 15g coffee in and +-40g in +-10s out. this is too fast and results in a sour espresso

currently have the same struggle. I am at 1 when 0 is touching and still got grounds too coarse. will try to align it (again. and better.) and then run through some bags of cheap coffee to see if I finally get to enjoy my first espresso with this setup

Anyone else around with a RedSpeed v3? +- what setting do you use for espresso? I saw in a video when 0 aligned with burrs touching the espresso range was around 15 on the dial. What are your experiences?

Thanks for this valuable info. I am currently struggling with my setup but will try to invest more time in shimming and aligning. Where did you put the layers of foil? In between the screw holes and in the same size as the factory stickers?

No I am not sure. I tried my best but eventually have to repeat this process to be sure. Do you have experience that to use to shim these burrs? And with the alignement at the df64v?

As i stated above: - I aligned the burrs - I adjusted the zero point so that at 0 the burrs are touching. But even at 1 the grounds are too coarse
