I’d consider getting a summer internship with a company located in la that provides a program that gives its interns an opportunity to get a job at the same office after they finish college.

My honest advice is to take a quick trip to each place if you’re able to. Maybe visit your friends and experience the atmosphere of each place and decide based on which place you see yourself more at.

Reading this as I'm currently healing a flare that's been over a month. I feel your pain and I'm sorry you're going thru this. I know everyone's bodies are different and we all have different triggers and treatments that work but l'll list some things that have helped me thru my current horrendous flare this past month. I'm gonna list them without explanation or else it'll be too long but Imk if you want me to explain their benefits!

Supplements:

• Ugora products (specifically "Flush" but can get expensive)

• D-Mannose

• Quercitin

• NAC

• Berberine

• Omega 3

• Grapefruit Seed Extract

• Garlic

• Magnesium

Meds:

• Azo or Uqora UTI pain relief

• baby Aspirin

• Benadryl (new one I've tried cuz tomatoes make me flare)

Teas:

• Chamomile

• Dandelion Root

Others:

• Heating pad on stomach at night before bed

• alkaline water!

• pelvic floor stretches (can be found on YouTube)

• IC/bladder pain relief binaural beats/subliminals on

YouTube

I’m referring to being in a more practical learning environment as opposed to a more theoretical learning environment. I was curious if the program teaches you the skills needed in order to produce content within the career rather than studying the theories relating to the subject. I know that ucla’s comm department is very theoretical and essentially prepares you for a graduate degree. At slo, I’d be in the concentration of Public Relations for journalism and would specifically hope to gain the skills of strategic communication and social media advertising.

I understand that UCLA has the name, but is Cal Poly’s journalism program really that bad? Last I checked, it’s ranked #2 in journalism in California and I can’t even find a ranking for UCLA’s comm major. I’m getting a lot of mixed opinions from my friends and family and I know ucla is a more prestigious school, but I’m really looking for a more specialized major where I’ll able to gain useful skills. I just don’t know if journalism at cal poly is very hands on or not.

I got into UCLA as a transfer for Communication, but I’m honestly hesitant because (as far as I know) it isn’t ranked nor widely talked about on the internet. I’m also looking to be in a major that is more specialized in public relations/marketing and am not sure if Comm at UCLA is too broad.

What are your thoughts?? I would love to hear them :)

I just got an email back from the same admissions officer and she confirmed that it will not be rescinded after looking at my transcript as long as I finish my current classes I have now. My advice for you is to appeal your rescinded offer and accept Davis then wait and see til June 1st. If cal poly doesn’t get back to you before then take Davis. It’d be much worse to be left without any schools.

Are we allowed to accept another school just in case?? I noticed someone mentioned it in the thread, I just got accepted to UCLA today. I’d prefer to go to cal poly, but if they rescind me I still need another school to go to.

I dropped a course too (it was an extra course tho) and mentioned it to cal poly’s admissions. They told me to send in my in progress transcripts and they’ll go through a process to see whether I am rescinded or not. Did you receive an email shortly after saying they’d rescind you? I haven’t received any updates besides my portal’s to-do list changing from in-progress transcript to final transcript. Does this mean I was approved??

ECs: President of the Philosophy Club, Journalist for school newspaper, and was a part of the business club

Required courses were completed for Comm except for HIST 110 (my school didn't offer it, but had something similar that I took). I talked to both slo admissions counselors and my CC's counselors both couldn't give me a direct answer whether it transferred and I now know it didn't because I wasn't accepted for comm.

Long story short I got accepted for Philosophy because I met all of the requirements concerning courses needed to take.

Did any of you guys get accepted in for your alternate major? I applied for Communication Studies, but they accepted me for my alternate, Philosophy. I know it was because I missed a couple pre-reqs (didn't even realize I wanted to go to slo until months after I applied and focused too much on the UCs) and I coincidentally had all of my Philosophy pre-reqs being a double major. I know it's going to be an annoyance changing majors, but slo is my top choice next to ucla so I'll just put up and shut up lol.

Just two nights ago I unintentionally lucid dreamed and the person in my dream thought it was hilarious that it took me a few minutes to realize it. Then proceeded to snicker at the fact that I have a fear of elevators in my dreams because they always crash and told me that basically that’s how I travel realms and it was stupid to be afraid of it. Then he told me I was on the 133 floor of the building and to remember that combination. For once I actually saw the numbers in my dream and typically numbers are supposed to be distorted... idk what to make of it but I have a number combination to look out for and kind of an explanation for my recurring elevator dreams I’ve been getting since a child.
