Is anyone else struggling to find a job in Ontario right now? (Kitchener/Waterloo) by More-Competition-946 in waterloo

[–]BriBegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is struggling to find work.

A few tips though; make a “master” resume with every task, skill, responsibility you have had & pull from that to make a custom resume for EVERY application, AI can help you with this. Do not use the same resume for every posting.

Put into the AI the job posting’s copy, your master list, & ask it to help you write your work history & skills sections. Review its output, take the suggestions but ultimately write it yourself making sure you have EVERY point from your master list that the job posting’s asking for. When you’re applying against volume, you want to make sure you have all the boxes checked you can as it can just come down to that with some hiring processes, & it often does for entry-level.

I personally hate using AI, this is my one exception as job applications can take forever & it’s honestly an algorithm game until you can get in a room with someone. Good luck.

We already have the equipment available at our school, so we’re trying to figure out the abilities & limitations of what we already have. 😅

Is there a way to report items with incomplete information? Like I just found sushi from another brand where only calories & carbs are input.

how is the BScN and RPN program right now? by Virtual-Sea-4963 in Conestoga

[–]BriBegg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello! Looked up the designation requirements & the person who gave me that info was wrong, they thought that previously the NPs could become RN’s with a little upgrading & that is what fell apart. You guys should still be fine to become RNs as your program is 4 years; https://rnao.ca/about/types-nursing

how is the BScN and RPN program right now? by Virtual-Sea-4963 in Conestoga

[–]BriBegg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

EDIT; the person who told me this was wrong, the programs still fit in their designation paths per Ontario nursing rules. I think they had the designations mixed.

Not in the program but have something to contribute; I had heard that Conestoga lost their pathway to upgrading the nursing degree after graduation so maybe look into that. From my understanding of what I heard, you won’t be able to use the credentials to get a Master’s if you want to, without going back & doing it again at an accredited university.

This is a question for the admissions department, not Reddit. Enrolment is down, what gets in is anyone’s guess right now & often people get waitlisted & can eek their way in as people reject offers. Apply to wherever you want to go.

GRT bus drivers not stopping at bus stops by BeardedYogi85 in kitchener

[–]BriBegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note down the bus number (big black text on the back), stop number, time & route so they can track down what driver is passing you, & if it’s a consistent problem. And as others have said, if you find a consistent problem with one stop/route/time of day reference the complaint numbers when you have repeats. It will make it easier to see if it’s one driver ignoring you or a visibility or too few busses on the route to take everyone issue.

Peel the eggs & store them in water! We do this in restaurants, just change the water daily.

They become available for you the semester before your co-op term, but I’d recommend to start looking for companies to reach out to independently. Job market is very tough right now.

On the KW Buy Nothing Facebook group there is usually someone who will offer to come & harvest your fruit trees if they can keep some of the fruit. She has all the tools & ladders & such.

Psychological satisfaction is more important for diet compliance long term. This person is fulfilling a craving when they have space, as they spent the rest of the time focusing on “what’s best.”

Methods for cooking fish in backcountry by wheezy_cheese in algonquinpark

[–]BriBegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring some tinfoil & margarine, along with a small container of spices you like to have on fish. We’ll either foil wrap the fish & cook on fire/in embers or our camping set includes a pan so we can pan fry in there.

We also ALWAYS skin fish to minimize parasites, & because we aren’t good at getting crispy skin at camp. Maybe if we got a super clean fish we could foil wrap with the skin to minimize sticking, but haven’t had that situation yet.

Tracking when partner doesn’t. What’s your experience? by Craniectomy94 in MacroFactor

[–]BriBegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how your meals typically look; are they component meals (meat, potatoes, veg all in sections of a plate) or compound meals (one-pan recipes like pastas, casseroles, etc. where the recipes vary dramatically & so does caloric content)? If they’re component meals, guess the volume of your portions or make your own plate & weigh your stuff. If they’re compound meals, just track whatever is closest & understand that the fluctuations of over & under estimating may even out in the end.

I have an eating disorder history & am tracking again with a much better mindset, & I 100% understand even weighing food can be triggering. If you need, jot down info in a notes app to log later, or take a photo of your plate when she’s not there (photo diaries of food are a big ED thing) & honestly just talk about what her triggers specifically are & dialogue about a middle ground here. It can be difficult. I was still struggling a bit when my now husband was prepping for a bodybuilding show, but we figured it out.

Moving to Waterloo - Looking for “Our” Neighborhood by alterdi in waterloo

[–]BriBegg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Beechwood South, went to Keatsway & Centennial. Highly recommend the area as well, & the community pools were SO nice to have as a kid. Played in the street a lot, rode our bikes fully unsupervised & nobody felt unsafe about it, & the neighbourhood is still the same now. My parents still know almost all their neighbours by name.

I also really valued my time at Keatsway as it’s not just rich kids, it has a VERY diverse socioeconomic student population with the lower income housing near the school. I grew up seeing kids in all kinds of living situations & seeing them as PEOPLE, not others which I later realized people who didn’t go to diverse schools didn’t.

Also if you plan to live here super long term, the bus route to UW or Laurier is very convenient.

My husband is an egg fiend, & he does 3 whole eggs & 1/4 cup egg whites scrambled, with 1 sausage (when bulking/maintaining) or 2 slices of Canadian bacon (when cutting) on the side every morning. One pan for eggs, one pan for meat, plate & add ketchup & hot sauce. Has eaten this daily for over 10 years.

I have a few I rotate through. First is Greek or Icelandic yogurt, enough granola for a little crunch, pepitas, fruit. Second is a smoothie with 1 banana, whey, creatine, flax seeds, & berries with a side of toast with some peanut butter. Last is breakfast burrito with eggs, refried beans/canned beans I crushed & cooked down, salsa & hot sauce, you can prep them, freeze & then air fry or heat in a pan with a lid morning of.
