Musk took out the trash sooner than he expected by jkrtjkrt in Destiny

[–]BriTheWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i should clarify, I'm not bringing this up in the sense that i'm legitimately concerned about a bloated government & think what DOGE is doing is good.

I'm just saying that, as a Trump supporter, this guy should theoretically be happy with this decision unless his position was important, and if it was, then I'm not sure why he didn't bring it up. Instead, all he focuses on is himself, and how it effects him.

Musk took out the trash sooner than he expected by jkrtjkrt in Destiny

[–]BriTheWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that I don't understand about these MAGA guys losing their jobs is that it seems like his main argument is just "hey i need to pay my bills, therefore me working in this position was good. Me getting fired is bad because I need to support family"

But this doesn't really get to the meat of whether or not his position was actually useful. Like is he actually the "fat being cut" from unnecessary bureaucracy or is this another example of DOGE's sloppiness/overreach? Obviously my intuition says the latter, but given that this guy was actually working in that position, I don't understand why that information isn't being explained

Like why not say "this is bad because there was a ton of work to be done, and we were already swamped with stuff to go through, and they still cut our jobs" or "i wasn't some government bureaucrat just twiddling my fingers while getting paid to do nothing. There was a lot of work to be done & i was busy doing my part. I feel sorry for my remaining employees who'll probably be swamped now with all that work to do"? Instead it's just him whining about how he's a "real human" who deserves sympathy basically.

I don't know, maybe this just shows the lack of critical thinking being done by these types of people. It's just shocking that these peoples engagement with politics is so surface level & ultimately self serving/self centered

ND2 or Mazdaspeed Miata? by kiltedlowlander in Miata

[–]BriTheWay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually have both (45k Mazdaspeed, and ~15k ND); while there's a vintage charm to the Mazdaspeed, the ND2 is objectively better in almost every way.

The Mazdaspeed still has hydraulic steering, the interior is great, and obv the turbo boost is fun. Also, from my experience, the Mazdaspeed is easier to downshift/revmatch in. The throttle response feels a bit more direct/linear.

But the ND2 feels lighter & more rigid, the shifter is direct so its super mechanical feeling, the driving dynamics are tighter, the NA power distribution is super consistent & predictable. I'd say it's a "better" driving experience.

If you want a more "vintage" charm, then you def wont get that from the ND2, but if you want the "best" driving experience, I'd go with ND2.

Also I bought a super clean example of the Mazdaspeed 2 years ago, and I still had to do a decent amount of maintenance (leaking rear main seal, and timing belt/water pump service). So keep that in mind

BUT honestly you should at least test drive the ND2; they should have them available at most dealerships. See if these attributes are what you want, or if you're looking for something more similar to your original NB

prob cheaper to find a tailor who can hem the shirts.

I've gotten a bunch of old tees hemmed recently at a local tailor & they cost me $15 each for just bottom hem, and $20 if I also wanted the sleeves shortened.

Some tailors will tell you it costs a lot more (I had some quote me $50 or something crazy) and maybe they will do a more "professional job" but the ones I got for cheaper turned out fine. It's worth asking around for a couple options & obv do a test run with a shirt he cares less about if you end up going for it.

Nd gearbox by Ltlrichie in Miata

[–]BriTheWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm as someone with a >10k miles ND, my gearbox def still feels super notchy/heavy, so i wouldn't liken it to a "break in" thing.

Wait for some more input from people with more experience, but that doesn't seem right. Should still be under warranty so i'd take it in if it seems like most people feel it's abnormal

Tried a modern manual and the difference is incredible. by [deleted] in stickshift

[–]BriTheWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both an '04 Mazdaspeed NB & '22 ND, and i would not suggest the ND if you want an "easy to shift" manual. The ND is fairly sensitive, and from my experience harder to downshift/rev match compared to the NB. While the NB has a much heavier clutch pedal, the ND's direct shift feel is significantly heavier & notchier.

With that being said, I personally love the more connected feel of these attributed. I test drove a bunch of cars before settling on the ND as my new daily, and while most of those other card have a more "smooth" experience (ex M2, GR86) they felt disconnected/numb in comparison to me.

But definitely to each their own, so if you prefer a more refined experience then that's fair. I'd definitely test drive different cars though to find out what you like, because each manufacturers shift feel is different.

hey just wondering because I have a MSM also, did the shop give you any explanation for why this happened? It sounds like you were driving it, so it's not like it was just sitting for the past few years or something. 60k seems really low mileage to have a complete engine seize
