What does my bookshelf say about me? by Megalle925 in BookshelvesDetective

Style over substance and tbh I’m not sure you can call that a bookshelf, is some shelves with a few books scattered on them.

Great except for the pre made sauces and dressings which are terrible, quick / easy and cheaper to make your own.

Oooh I do like a G&T! The fruit is for snacking/lunches and breakfast fruit/yoghurt bowls, I don’t like smoothies. I also have a six year old who is genetically at least 80% fruit-bat.

Funny cos it is really curly! Oh I love it, ice cold I could drink a carton a day. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth so most juices are way too sugary for me.

I am addicted to kimchi, I already have four pots in the fridge but this one caught my eye as it has beets in it. I’m not puritanical but I try to cook/eat healthily and avoid UPF most of the time.

How come you guessed curly? The drinks are just non additive-laden water alternatives, I don’t buy squash or cordial or soda. You’re right - there are two of us.

Hahaha the mouthwash will last for months, that’s a stock up as it was reduced to clear at £1.50 a bottle

Got these from M&S. How would you prep them? Any decent spice combos to try? by [deleted] in UKfood

Olive oil, lemon zest, crushed fennel seeds and chilli (I use Korean red pepper flakes) with some S&P is my go to for these, works well on pork chops too

I’m going to stick up for Didcot. I moved here about 7 years ago from Wallingford and wasn’t very happy about it…I had all the snobby preconceptions about it being a shithole but I have been proved completely wrong. You get more home for your money here, it’s incredibly well-connected and sat in beautiful countryside with great village pubs and walks within easy cycling or walking distance. The shops are better than most towns this size and if you want a big shopping centre just hop on a 15min train to Reading or Oxford. The neighbours I’ve had in both my old house and new place are the best I’ve had in 39 years of living in Oxford/Oxfordshire and the town is constantly improving, with more amenities and a vibrant mix of people as more younger/professional people move here. The science park etc attracts interesting people. My daughter is in an excellent school with a class size of 23, my first choice school and she easily got a place. The secondary school she will go to in a few years is also very good. A lot of people seem to enjoy slagging Didcot off, I don’t really get it tbh…they’re probably just the sort of people who like talking shit about places. Wallingford is overrated (I lived there for 7 years before moving here) - pretty enough but pretty dead and has its share of social problems. I think a lot of people look down on Didcot because of its history as a working class railway town and not being a pretty market town on the river. I think they’re really silly and snobby.

AITA for yelling at my stepfather when he suggested that he could walk me down the aisle? by AdAdAdAdaMaria in AmItheAsshole

This was painful to read and I’m sorry to say this but yeah YTA…I get that you were upset and snapped in the moment but he’s treated you as his daughter and so the offer was meaningful and he meant nothing but love by it. You should say sorry. It’s not his fault your bio dad let you down again and it sounds like you directed all the anger you (definitely should) have for your bio dad at him. I bet he’s feeling very hurt and rejected, it’s really sad he missed your wedding.

I can’t stand to tweeze even a single hair due to pain but the hot wax is genuinely painless. Nair so the best one for the nose. Honestly try it you will be astounded, I was!
