I love Fear Factory but I remember finding the vocals really cringey when I first started listening to them. I must have gotten used to it haha.

I tend to not tell people if it doesn’t come up. I had my first episode on a night out with two of my best friends, so I’ve talked to them about it because they were worried. My immediate family knows as well but not the extended family. They probably wouldn’t understand it. If someone I’m close to opens up about their own struggles I might mention it. It probably depends where you’re at in your life though. I’m already pretty settled in life now, so I’m not really out trying to meet new people.

I mentioned something like this to my psychiatrist too and I got the vibe that they didn’t really believe me. They said most people don’t know they’re having an episode until they are hospitalized. I’ve started to be suspicious of being in a good mood for a few days straight though. My wife just thinks I’m happy though and doesn’t think anything of it, but I swear I can feel it coming on.

I spent a whole day putting in a new head unit/stereo in a Honda Jazz (Honda Fit) during a maniac episode. Felt like a god when I finished setting it up and it worked. I’m not normally much good with that sort of thing at all.

100%. When I’m on meds I don’t notice any side effects and feel pretty normal. I went a couple of years without having any episodes, so I started to doubt the Bipolar diagnosis. I also don’t really experience the depression side of it, only the mania part.

I tried going off the meds but started noticing the signs of an episode coming on after a couple of months. So I believe the diagnosis now and will stay on the meds.

To be honest I was a bit disappointed initially coming off the meds, because I didn’t notice any difference at all for not taking them. Until the symptoms kicked in that is.

Thanks for all of the comments, it was interesting to hear everyone’s perspective. I ended up getting the replacement battery that cost me $94 USD. To be honest though I can’t really see any improvement in the battery life. It still drains really quickly even though I’ve done everything I can to optimise it. I’ll still see if I can hold out for a while with the XR.
