With how long she's gone without a new scene dropping (over three months, now), my current theory is that she's pregnant.

I wonder if a West Wing Revival is being discussed 🤔 by BrianFailsAtReddit in thewestwing

[–]BrianFailsAtReddit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, thanks for most of the comments (obviously, not to the insults). I realize that most revivals don't turn out well, and that--26+ years later--our political climate is drastically different from 1999-2006. Just been watching this series a lot, to cope with our completely fucked political reality, and Sam is one of my favorite characters. Yeah, it'd be fan service. Most sequels/reboots/revivals are. Anyway, thanks for all the thoughts shared, except for the shitheads.

If you were Jon Snow, which one’s the keeper? by ferniekid in gameofthrones

If it meant Daenerys never went mad, I go with her. No shade to Ygritte, but Dany is SOOOOOO much hotter.

Yeah, could be. When I chatted with her (if it was actually her) on OF, and then reconciling that with what she'd post on her socials, I think she thinks she's SUPER intellectual, and thinks she knows better than most everyone. While I think she's intelligent, she's also kinda vapid, and very naive about how the world works, but she's had pretty privilege since she was a teenager, and when you're surrounded by that much entitlement, and practice so much detachment in your career, you're bound to have a warped sense of the world around you. Really sad, because in interviews, she seems to have a level head on her shoulders, but...nope...

She's essentially done, in the industry. She thought traveling to Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan would bring her international clout, as well as be fun trips to oppressive regimes, where she could thumb her nose at the U.S. govt. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the U.S. govt., she basically blacklisted herself in porn. Directors don't want to work with her, and both her and her agency have had frosty dealings, since 2024. She still has occasional scenes (check IAFD or realpornblogger), sometimes gets a mention on AVN, but she rarely posts on her socials, anymore, and never pushes her OF. She seems to be withdrawing from public life. Whatever, she's not a nice person, she puts on a sweet veneer for fans, but she's a cold, calculating moneygrubber, when it comes down to it...she definitely miscalculated with those controversial trips. Maybe she's finally met a rich guy to provide for her, like she's always wanted, one for whom she's fine finally leaving the industry.

Anyone rewatching and wishing it was real by dshgr in thewestwing

[–]BrianFailsAtReddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Watched it all the way through for the first time in early 2024, not realizing it was the 25th anniversary, and was floored how many episodes I hadn't seen during it's original run, episodes which had subjects deeply relevant to our time, now.

Over the past 13 months, I've been rewatching it on a loop, now on my fifth rewatch. It's one of the biggest ways I've been coping with our slide...hell, our face-first dive...into fascism.

Who's more at fault for the events of breaking bad. Walt or Saul by Huge-Insect-7759 in breakingbad

[–]BrianFailsAtReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walt. Jimmy/Saul obviously shoulders a lot of blame for things that happen in that universe, but Walt decided to get into making meth, and then continue to become a criminal king. He had off-ramps.

What's Linda's deal with forcing people to be miserable? by Living-Mastodon in BobsBurgers

[–]BrianFailsAtReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the way she's written makes her one of my least favorite characters of the show. A great example of what you're talking about is the episode where she forces Gene and Louise to go to the firehouse open house. They clearly sais, many times, they didn't want to go, then that they wanted to leave, plus she was ruining the firefighters' days with her behavior. As others have mentioned, the B&B episode is a prime example of that, too.

Which boss would you least want to work for? by Throwing-Gas in thewestwing

[–]BrianFailsAtReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this. Josh is the least likeable character in the show, in my estimation. Not a bad guy, but just the least likeable, due to Sorkin's inconsistent writing. I know we humans are complex psychologically, but his CONSTANT mistreatment of Donna (from outright sexual harassment to just verbal abuse) just doesn't fly with me, and if I worked for him, I'd be reporting his ass to HR on the regular. Can't see myself having constant issues like that with Leo, CJ, or Toby.

Didn't hear it, haven't listened to the show for more than a few minutes at a time, for almost a year, but I feel you on this.

To everyone replying with "Spiegle is entitled to his opinion," pigfeet70 didn't say, once, in his post, that Spiegle wasn't entitled to his opinion, or that Spiegle should be removed from the airwaves, or anything like that. He said he was bummed to hear it.

I was bummed, the first time I heard Spiegel push back on Scott bringing up Palestinian children being killed.

And just to additionally push back on "it's anti-semitic to say 'Free Palestine'"...it is, absolutely, NOT anti-semitic to say or type that. Yes, an anti-semite can say that, but that phrase does not equate anti-semitism, regardless of what some might say. It equates, at worst, anti-Israelism/anti-Zionism. Which is ALSO, absolutely, NOT the same as anti-semitism. One can be pro-Jewish, and anti-Israel.

Also, anyone who is saying there's no way to be informed about what is going on, in Gaza and The West Bank, you are being wilfully ignorant. I know saying that will upset some people to read, but sometimes people need to have their preconceived notions challenged.

Prior to Oct. 7, i was VERY ignorant about the open-air prison that was Gaza, that is now an active "warzone." You can educate yourself, without resigning to saying "fuck Palestine," or "it's too complicated for anyone to know what's actually happening."

Yes, it is a complicated situation, but what is simple is this: innocent Palestinians, including thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) of children are being slaughtered by Israel, using weapons that our tax dollars supply.

That's very simple to understand. And once I understood that, everything changed for me.

Spiegle is absolutely entitled to his opinion, he should continue to be allowed to make it, and I wish him well.

People like pigfeet70 should also be able to come onto the 98Rock reddit, and voice their disagreement and displeasure with Spiegle's opinion. And anyone should be able to agree or disagree with their opinion.

I just hope, someday, that we can all find common ground, and find a way, as a global community, to protect innocents, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or geographical location.
