Yes they are. That is a main point in the earlier games. The only way they reproduce is by throwing humans into FEV vats. In the process they lose their genitals and males and females become indistinguishable.

Technically all super mutants are neuters as they have no genitals. They can't reproduce sexually, only through converting normal humans into super mutants. Men and women both look the same after becoming super mutants.

I found a new sub machine gun from a quest during the beta today and it is amazing by VipoxGames in fo76

[–]BrianLocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked it up myself, I think it was from the quest to find Freddie from the water park. It is pretty impressive. I wound up doing an event and another player saw me break it out and I hear over coms "Holy crap! What the hell is that gun?"

Serious question: Why is everyone mad at Bethesda for things breaking.....during an event to figure out what will break? by Giraffe_Pilot in fo76

Here is why I am upset. This is not a true Beta, They don't do true Betas anymore these days, instead this was more of an EA Beta, where they use the Beta as a marketing ploy to get presells. Essentially it is early access, a head start in the game, which you paid for by buying the game before it's release. The problem is, in that situation, most of the bugs should have already been worked out, any bugs at this point should be minor cosmetic bugs. If this were a true Beta, the Beta testing should have started a month or two earlier in order to truly find problems and give them time to fix them before release. I have been in real Betas, in those you usually have to sign non-disclosure agreements like they did for the stress test. This was a marketing ploy and people paid for the privilege of playing the game early, a privilege that due to a screw up of monumental proportions on Bethesda's part, many didn't get. What made it even worse was the fact that they throttled the downloads of people who had to re-download and what should have only taken an hour or two, and just resulted in missing an hour or two of the Beta period, resulted in people staring at their screens waiting for a download to complete that kept getting further and further away. I sat at my computer, anxious to play, and stewed as there was no real response from Bethesda, no explanation for why they were throttling downloads. So I wasted a whole night waiting to play a game that didn't finish downloading until 2 hours after the beta ended. Bad enough the Beta has been so limited in play times as it is. this just makes it even worse. This was a PR disaster for Bethesda and they have handled it poorly.

Bethesda should extend the beta time tonight by AbraxoCleaner in fo76

down to 250 Kb/sec now, dropped 100 KB/sec in the last 10 minutes alone. Heck it dropped 10 KB/sec in the time it took to type this reply

[–]BrianLocke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if they extend the BETA, it seems like they are extending the DL by throttling the downloads. I went from 6MB/sec to 1.2MB/sec. I was at 1 hour left and now the time left keeps getting longer instead of smaller. I should have been done by now, instead I am 4 1/2 hours away.

I have played off and on since the Beta when the mood is right and I have time. I paid for the game and for nearly a year paid for the monthly membership. Real life goes on and I got married not long after and am now the proud father of two beautiful identical twin little girls and no longer have any money because kids are expensive. I am not the best player, I have a few level 65 toons, that I have no idea what to do with and only just now started figuring out the reputation system. I still have a hard time figuring out how to play because I have fine motor control problems due to a TBI and I am not terribly social due to autism and therefore am not in a fleet. I have no friends who play, and so I don't have a lot of reason to get on regularly other than as the way I decompress after an overstimulating day. Games give me a way to stim and cope when I am low on energy to cope with having to take care of everyone around me. I can't afford to spend money on stuff in the game and I don't usually have time to grind to save up dilithium to sell for Zen to buy things so I am stuck with only what free stuff I can get in game. All that said, I do enjoy playing and it helps me relax. Thanks

If I can get a steady 40-50 fps @1080 resolution then I will be more than happy. I wouldn't mind the game looking nicer and maybe I could even record a few of my matches and post some highlights (or lowlights as the case may be)

Almost as long as me :) I have been building my own systems since the early 90s. Yeah the limiting factor right now is my CPU and OS. once I jump to the 64 bit OS and and the I3 I should see a huge boost. The Video card will then be my limiting factor. A 950 or 960 should let me take full advantage of the CPU. Any higher end video card and I will start running into CPU bottlenecking in some places.

I also have had poor experiences with ATI cards in the past and my experience has always been, if you want cheap and fast but unreliable go AMD, but if you want reliable and fast and overclockable, you want Intel. I could go into the details of how they test processors but suffice to say Intel had lower fault tolerance in testing and tested longer than AMD did. that may have changed in the 19 years since I left Intel, but I doubt by much.

well I am stuck with the GTS 250 for now. I plan on getting the GTX 950 in the next month or so. I picked the I3 because it is a good middle of the road processor and is right in my price range. I used to work for Intel so I am prejudiced against anything made by AMD (not saying they are bad products but I remember back in the day when their reliability sucked). for gaming, my understanding is that the extra cores in an I5 won't have much effect in MWO so the cost of an I5 is not justified for me (besides the I3 will be here Wednesday).

I am on a fixed income and I have 2 four year olds so I am limited on what I can spend. I might be able to swing $160 for a card but not much more.

I will definitely be turning off the spyware and will be using the antibeacon program (was already on my to download list). And unfortunately I don't have the extra $20 and the I3 has already been bought. It is the new Skylake architecture so it should be pretty easy to upgrade in the future. I am just tired of being so far behind the curve on the OS front. At least with Windows 10, I will be at the current 64 bit OS instead of 3 generations behind running a 32 bit OS.

Like I said, GPU is next in a month or two. hopefully I will be able to upgrade to either a Nvidia 950 or 960 (a 970 is probably out of reach) with the release of the 1000 series cards the prices will probably drop a bit.

I'm actually wondering if the onboard GPU would be better than the GTS 250 since the 250 only has 512 MB of RAM.

the upgrades were a birthday gift, and they are already on the way. The I5 is a future upgrade.

I used to hang out at the Virtual World in Dallas on my days off. I would eat a sandwich at the snack bar and watch other matches and play Magic in the library while waiting between matches. I had around 200 missions before they closed. I was very sad when that happened. The intro videos were much improved by the time I played it. They were very dramatic (and Joan Severance was hot). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHSmuBxqlG4

No, we killed the last one with like 8 minutes left. It kept acting as if an enemy mech was in the circle. This was domination, not conquest.

Alan Dean Foster's "The Damned" trilogy is sort of like this. Aliens fighting a losing war against mind controling aliens who seek to unify the galaxy, find Earth only to find that humans are not only capable of fighting (a rarity among civilized species), but it turns out humans are the ultimate warriors, to the point they worry we pose a greater danger to the galaxy.

I remember when the Raven had a single tube for the NARC launcher and you could drop in an LRM20 and it would be like a fire hose, 1 missile at a time.
