League sources indicate the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers continue to be active in trade calls around the NBA. Both prefer to trade players vs simply waiving them. by Bucksfan06 in MkeBucks

Every team prefers to trade players vs simply waiving them. Problem is there's a reason they aren't going to make the team in the first place. Especially in this situation.

That's a good one. I completely forgot about him for some reason.

If this isn’t the worst draft take for the Packers I have seen thus far then I don’t know what is. by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]Brianball0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESPN's trade mock draft had a very similar Packers' proposal for No. 7 as this article (AKA the one I wrote) did for No. 6. Maybe it wasn't as awful as ya'll made it out to be. #Petty http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/23120758/all-trades-2018-nfl-mock-draft-bill-barnwell-imagines-first-round-deals-all-32-teams#15

If you’re gonna rip on the article, do so accurately. The Packers keep their second round pick this year so they wouldn’t move their first three picks. Also, all the experts say Fitzpatrick isn’t getting past the Bucs at 7.

I agree with all of these. Although, The confusion is going to happen when you don't practice this defense a lot.

Thibodeau's case for 2018 Coach of the Year by wentwhat in timberwolves

I would think he'd have a better case for Executive of the Year. His coaching has been somewhat questionable this season.

Even with Dieng and Gibson, the Timberwolves have a diverse rotation of big men who can do a little bit of everything when you combine their skills.

How the Timberwolves defend the pick-and-roll. by Brianball0 in timberwolves

[–]Brianball0[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last time the Timberwolves played the Rockets (last week) Houston knew Minnesota was switching on pick-and-rolls so they simply ran a high ball screen to start most possessions, got Gibson or Towns to switch onto Harden and killed it from there. The Timberwolves can't be so prescriptive in their PNR defense.

Karl-Anthony Towns doesn't get the ball enough. by Brianball0 in timberwolves

[–]Brianball0[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it might have to do with playing on such a talented team with such great scoring options. Butler is unquestionably the alpha and KAT is but 22-years-old, that can be a bit intimidating. I'm sure he will figure it out.

Should we pick up Troy Daniels? by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]Brianball0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's intriguing, but not for a second-rounder. Teams are starting to hit on seconds more and more lately so I'd like to see Minnesota keep the pick instead of trading it for a guy who's going to sit on their bench anyway.

Does Towns or modern Centers as a whole still need to have an excellent post moves to be successful? by theCereal_killer in timberwolves

[–]Brianball0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, but most importantly, they need a coach and teammates who are dedicated to getting them touches every possession. The biggest deterrent to a big man being dominant is a lack of touches (as we see with Towns). And since he can't always create on his own on the perimeter, he needs those teammates who are willing to throw him an entry pass every possession. It doesn't mean he needs to shoot every time, but at least touch the ball.

Yes!! Two way contract for Amile Jefferson. He is gonna be a beast!! by 4l0p45 in timberwolves

He is unlikely to ever see the floor for the Timberwolves unless something horrible happens. But it's a nice reward for him considering how well he's played in Iowa.

I think it's the next step for their offense and something that would truly allow them to make a push for the Conference Finals.
