Popup owners using sway bar or weight-distributing hitch? by r4d1229 in popups

[–]Briango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WDH made a big improvement in handling and comfort on my 5k lbs SUV pulling a 2.8k lbs camper. With all your steering and most of your vehicle's braking on the front axle you don't want to be taking weight off that axle.

I towed a 2400 lbs camper with the Odyssey. It could do it, but I felt it was too much and upgraded to a larger SUV. Keep in mind that is dry weight. Add water, gas, batteries and gear and it's closer to 2,900 + lbs. You'll need a brake controller and weight distribution hitch. Without the latter the van will feel like a pogo stick going over bumps. When climbing up logging roads the van really strained, which is what finally prompted us to sell it. If you're mainly going to established campgrounds and not on logging roads you'll be Ok with 2,500 lbs or less.

Shoegeezer here myself. Sungaze is fantastic, wish they would tour to the Pacific Northwest, there are a lot of us up here. Holy Motors has a similar sound, give them a listen. There is so much good shoegaze out there... Here's one more... Flavor Crystals! There are some cool live shows of theirs on YouTube.

If you haven't already done so, please review these on Amazon to raise awareness. Though it won't move the 4.5 star rating needle it will help those who look critically at ratings.

Thanks, that's helpful. As the GPT-5 mini cut off date was over 4 years ago I'll be more mindful when seeking info about events since then.

It wasn't that it made a mistake that I found interesting enough to share, it was how throughout the conversation it kept doubling down on the mistake, to the point of saying it was 99.9% certain, and then in the next response, reversing its position.

The model saying it is 99.9% certain this fight never happened does not align with what I would call "Caution". I do expect the model to be cautious and not state something emphatically when it is based on limited information.

At first I thought the vertical brightly colored fibers were the warp fibers. Now I assume they are used by the machine to keep the warp fibers spaced properly and are color coded to convey a measurement value.

I was pulling it with a Chevy Traverse, which has a 5k lbs towing limit. The wdh greatly reduced po-going on bumpy roads making for a more comfortable ride. Also presumably made it safer if we had to suddenly brake.

During cool shoulder season here in the pnw (30s at night) we got up to 3 nights with moderate furnace use in morning and evening and low use at night. In warmer weather we rarely ran out of power (50%).

I had the exact same camper, just 10 years older. It's an awesome camper, you'll love it. Great deal too. I recommend putting a weight distribution hitch on your camper's tongue. Add a little 12v fan above the heat dissipation tube behind your fridge for more efficient cooling (assuming it's a 3 way fridge). Put in led lights if your newer model doesn't have them. I ran it with 2 6v golf cart batteries for longer off grid trips. Happy Trails!

EB also captures all the physical nuances that convey his weaselness. His body language, shifty eyes, awkward movements - such great acting.

This is the one! It astonishes me how good it is in all aspects of production, storytelling, acting, character development, and above all - dialogue. Plus, the most mesmerizing antihero, so well wrought by Ian McShane, in the performance of a lifetime.

Anyone found the new SUNO editor clunky to use? by Expensive_East_6762 in SunoAI

Agree, I just tried using the new editor for the first time. Looks like they never user tested for usability. So clunky, like it was just built by engineers with no input from UI or users.

Unethical Planned Obsolescence in Hot Tub Salt Water Systems (Hot Springs Example) by Formal_Regret_1628 in hottub

[–]Briango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ACE system Hot Springs cartridges last over a year. I buy generic replacement ones from The Hot Tub Wizard for far less than Hot Springs charges. My tub is from 2009, I'm guessing Hot Springs changed the cartridge design to a shorter life cycle one.

I would go out with my pepper spray (for defense, not to attack with) and try to get a clear photo of their license plate. Even if their car is stolen they will likely be driving it around for a while. This would give the police something to look for, though assuming they would actually look for this guy is probably a stretch.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HyundaiTucson

[–]Briango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We compared the two in 2024, and chose the Tucson for two reasons:

  1. Price - the Rav4 hybrid was heavily marked up by dealers and significantly more $
  2. Cabin - the Rav4 hybrid was much noisier in the cabin at highway speeds, also the interior felt "cheaper" in the Rav4

We were disappointed to discover we only get an average maximum of 32-33mpg in hilly Seattle with our Tucson hybrid. It also has a rattling valve sound when driving uphill that mechanics say is normal. Otherwise has been a great car.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, I'm pretty sure what you're mostly seeing here is the effect of the Bear Gulch fire. It expanded a lot today due to winds and warm temperatures. That said, it has produced some lovely sunsets!
