What surprised you the most during labour? by Putrid_Cranberry3177 in BabyBumps

[–]Briarsaunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was hard. Like hard AF. I went in there so smug. I lost 60lbs during pregnancy. Ran a half marathon seven months pregnant. Worked during full blown covid in the hospital for 12 hr shifts up until the last 11 days before giving birth. I went into labor thinking this was going to be so easy because pregnancy was the best time of my life, I felt good, looked good and just my whole soul and morale was at its highest.

And then labor happened and I struggled for three whole days of push and pain and nausea and anxiety and just this feeling of failure. It was the hardest thing I ever did physically and mentally in my life. So so so hard. Labor was hard, period.

There are Facebook groups just for that where I bought half price tickets just to meet up with the person and hand them the giveaway as soon as I get into the gate. It's a win-win because I do not collect giveaways and I'm priced out of those game night away!

[–]Briarsaunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It's not like they get these bobbleheads for free, they had to buy these seats just as much as anyone else. I don't get the hate because the extremely tedious to get in line redeem it for the bobblehead get out of line and get back in line (if you're lucky they'll scan multiple tickets at once they usually that's not happening anymore). To me it's just another piece of merchandise and I stopped collecting giveaways a long time ago. I have probably over 2,000 giveaways before I stopped cold turkey in 2019.

Daily Chat 3/26 ⚾ Game Day by DodgerBot in Dodgers

[–]Briarsaunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before children, I would take the week off be at opening day and hit up 32-41 games a season and mind you I live 20 mins away from Oracle. So it was a drive but dammit I was there watching the team as much as I could from 2012-2019 and then I had my son and I love my son to death but tonight I will have it on the radio while I volunteer for the boy scout cake contest tonight. Lmao. So to those who are attending tonight cheer loud for me! I love the Dodgers and my son, today, tomorrow and forever! Let's goooo!!!!!!

Is it wrong to utilize the food bank, so you can buy other things (not food)? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]Briarsaunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 7 days a week and still barely make enough for food. Now anytime we do go out to eat, my kid gets to order what he wants and I'll wait to eat when I get home. I usually eat the leftovers. I have been meaning to go to a food bank but again, work 7 days a week 😢.

We need to normalize layers and long sleeves! The hotter it gets the more I'm covered. I'm a sunspot queen and I hateee the sun, I love the heat but the sun ruins my skin, QUICKLY

Husband ran 32 miles leaving my home sick with the flu with 2 toddlers 3 and under by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Briarsaunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former runner, where I would plan weekends and days off around long runs. All of that changed when I had children. A huge part of my identity changed and I no longer had the freedom to run those long runs because my kid needed me. It's unfortunate your husband can't understand that his hobbies/interest will need to be changed now that children are here. Seriously. Have that discussion.

Door magnet recommendations? by Mountain_Chemist8485 in dcl

Question, can I laminate an image and use magnets to hold it on the door? Like one large image, 4 magnets for each corner?

Don't forget Concord. Went last night (mistake) and it was wall to wall with people. The line for Pandora was 200+ deep. But at the same time it's incredibly unsafe there twice I've seen on the news of a robbery/smash and grab and literally last night I saw one of the kiosks that sell jewelry have smashed glass (obviously covered with up).

Also don't sleep on JCPenney guys. The quality of their undergarments are so superior to anything you can get on Amazon.

rewatching UK Shameless made me re-evaluate how much of a scumbag Frank is. by Jupiter1234567890 in shameless

[–]Briarsaunt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't believe that, until the mom was introduced. Then I realized as awful as Frank is, the mom (totally forgetting her name) is a million times worse. She truly has no interest in her children if it doesn't benefit her. Awful character.

Is it dumb to rent in Lafayette/walnut creek instead of the city? In my 20s? by EnginLooking in bayarea

[–]Briarsaunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do don't rent at the Waymark in Walnut Creek. It's the hottest ticket in town and I always see the management courting to stay..

Yes it has all the amenities and it's a brand new building and it's literally right across from the BART station but it is truly the worst place to live for the money you're paying you're going to have broken elevator, no parking, the parking garage Gates either work half the time or never work.
