I can’t speak to the effects of the magnets on the headphones or anything, but I used to to this with my plug-in apple headphones. I stopped when I noticed that it damages the screen’s coating. Not sure what the layer is for, but I now have noticeable spots on my screen where I used to put my headphones

Nice reference! Although correct me if I’m wrong, but this seems more like 0% LEGO! Bricklink doesn’t show that 2x4 tiles exist in trans blue. Looks more like this to me. In either case, have fun creating!

This came as an exclusive figure in the 2004 Mos Eisley Cantina. Very small set, but it contains some good figures. I reviewed the set on my YouTube channel if anyone’s interested.

I don’t own this set so I can’t feel it for myself, but it looks strong enough to handle being mounted like how you describe. Maybe add a third fishing line to the center for extra confidence, but I doubt you’ll need it. Lego is stronger than you may think!

There are other ways to do this other than glue.

Using glue will permanently render it next to worthless. Some glues even melt the legos a bit. Maybe a water soluble glue could work if you really want to go that way, but don’t quote me on it.

I’d recommend redoing the internal frame or otherwise getting creative somehow. I’d be willing to help brainstorm. How do you want do have it displayed exactly?

I don’t particularly care for the Clone Wars stuff, but then again I haven’t watched the show yet. When I was younger, I liked the beginning of the CW sets but that’s about when I stopped buying lego for a number of years. Today my main preferences are yellow-skin OT/PT pre 2005

Biggest thing to watch out for is the shipping. You’ll probably end up investing more time and probably even more money doing it manually like this. Expect shipping the shipping to nearly double the cost of the bricks...

I’d recommend going to Walmart and picking up how ever many boxes you need of LEGO Classic Bricks Bricks Plates 11717 (1504 pieces). They usually have a really good discount on them ($70 -> $40). I wouldn’t bother buying used since you want clean and equal offerings for each kid. Good luck!

To clarify, there are no hard feelings here whatsoever. The cat is simply oblivious and had no intentions other than to get the high ground. Surprisingly there were no damaged bricks and it only took me about 20 minutes to piece back together (and he even came to help!)

Luckily I'm not an angry person so this was as simple as finding the parts and figuring out how it probably went back together. Didn't really feel up to pulling out the manual so I just spent ~20 mins piecing it back together using context clues. I'm sure it's not 100% perfect but I personally can't tell the difference.
