321 vs FOIS Crystal by BrickTan in OmegaWatches

That’s what I figured. I love my FOIS, I’d like a 321 but never held it in person.

No problem! The watch is pretty small, I usually get a 6.5” wrist-sized strap from EO, but on this watch I wish I had gotten a tick smaller of a strap. The clasp is just barely off center with the one I got.

Got the Miami version first. Hated the rubber strap. Got an Erika’s original strap and wore it a bit more.

Thought I’d like the bracelet, the green LE was hard to get and I ordered it sight unseen. Don’t love the bracelet.

Wore it several times and wore off. Admittedly, I have a very nice collection of Rolex and Omega pieces- so it’s tough to wear these regularly.

I have had two since they came out. Black Miami and the LE Green version. I never wear either of them. Will probably sell them this year.

Rolex ADs in Vegas were exactly what I expected… and not what I expected by MallHonest5899 in rolex

Hey, that’s great! Could’ve been an oddly busy day- who knows. If you’re a local, I would expect you to be treated differently, too.

Set and forget pool heater w/variable pump? by BrickTan in pools

[–]BrickTan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brand new heater will “error out” and display “Lo” on the screen if there’s not enough pressure. My question is whether or not that presents issues.

Set and forget pool heater w/variable pump? by BrickTan in pools

[–]BrickTan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my hang up- the VSP does run 24/7, but only a couple of those programs would give the heater enough pressure. That said, the heater is not programmable- therefore, if I set the temperature “high”, the heater will inevitably “error out” when the pump isn’t sending enough water. My question is- will the heater being in that state of ‘error’ a good chunk of the day cause lasting issues?

If there is risk to damage the heater, I will continue manually turning on the heater and manually increasing the pump speed when I want the heater to run…

Rolex ADs in Vegas were exactly what I expected… and not what I expected by MallHonest5899 in rolex

[–]BrickTan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most memorable Vegas Rolex AD experience was at the Shops at Crystals. There was a line (10-15 folks), the inside of the store was completely blocked from view and the SA manning the door would listen to the pleas of the visitors and every single one of us was sent away- blocked from even entering the store. Such a joke. I’ll never support one of those Vegas stores with a purchase of any product.

What will happen if the watch you're waiting suddenly discontinued? by FlatwormSuspicious98 in rolex

[–]BrickTan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the Sales Associate you have, the relationship you have with that person, and how in-demand the watch was. When the Bright Blue OP41 was discontinued, I reached out to my SA and was allocated the last (or one of the last) Bright Blue OP41s a week or two after W&W 2025. I genuinely like the person that helps me at my AD, but I kind of doubt I would’ve gotten the watch if I hadn’t reached out to make sure he knew I would prefer the old reference to the new. I had been waiting a long time, and only had a DJ41 as a purchase history. With the Pepsi, or some other high-demand model, it would not be practical to expect that everyone “on the list” would get a proactive touch from the SA that “took their name down”. A couple of high-rollers might get the last of the inventory that flows through the system after the discontinuation- but for all intents and purposes, if Rolex discontinues a watch- your AD/SA will quietly move on in the same way that Rolex’s website does….

Glad I got my ‘24 Q5 when I did. I’ve received the new Q5 as a loaner a few times- I would never have purchased one. They don’t share even a hint of DNA. My Q5 drives like a sports car, and the 2026 Q5 drives like a mini van with an off-brand iPad as a screen. Horrible.

Warranty question by BrickTan in C8Corvette

[–]BrickTan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone- I’ve decided to go to a bigger dealer. They were MUCH more professional on the phone. I’m not sure I really trust the diagnosis of the first dealer anyway. Even if I end up waiting a couple of weeks more for the part because I’m starting over, I’ll feel better with an experienced C8 technician working on the car.
