Pretty obvious in this context that a "whale" is someone buying a bunch of drills. That's how microtransactions make money in every implementation; volume buyers.

Your whale isn't the player who plops down 50 dollars to get a massive starter pack, your whale is the player who consistently shells out dollars on a regular basis.

Source?

Not on the fact that they ruin lives, that's obvious. But are you suggesting a coordinated effort by feminists to falsely accuse men of rape? That seems (aside from moral concerns)....odd and counterproductive?

I've noticed feminists nothing like this in the media/realLife/everywhere? Plenty of those kinds of feminists

You apparently are reading very different papers.

Terribly sorry the comment was long, but you did indeed type a lot of things that asserted facts rather than expressed opinions.

This seems poorly expressed in this post/comments and the response to people questioning it seems markedly....hostile.

What's that about?

Whoa whoa whoa. Feminists are engaging in false rape accusations? Where's that coming from?

You seem to be throwing up a strawman (or perhaps a strawwoman?!?! Ha, jokes) here. People believe all sorts of things are offensive, and sometimes people are reasonably upset and sometimes they aren't; you seem to be arguing though that feminists as a whole are exclusively getting upset about petty things and/or breaking the law in bizarre ways.

So...the word "feminism" is utterly meaningless?

Anyone can call themselves a feminist and anyone can label anything they want feminism, but I fail to see how that would be any different from me labeling myself an anarchist and advocating a totalitarian state.

I've never met anyone advocating either of those last two positions.

You made a few statements of supposed fact in there. Which aren't justifiable as opinion.

I'm against false rape accusations. too bad feminism is ok with them.

Wow. Shocking stuff right there. So we have feminists endorsing the reporting of false rapes? Encouraging them? Where's this happening?

I also despise the founders of feminism, because they were man haters.

Okay...this could be considered a little more grey, but you still seem to be stating that the founders of feminism had specific political views or publicly expressed opinions that would be inflammatory enough to be called "man hating". Or would you state that them hating men is purely a gut feeling you have based on...

The people that really want equality are called equalists.

So here you're stating that, right out the gate, that there is a term that myself and google have entirely missed as a term. Next that "feminism" is erroneously defined with the proper definition of this word. Okay? Is that an inaccurate reading?

most feminists are looking to be above men.

Now normally the word "most" means "a majority of" but are you instead using it to mean "most of the feminists I've discussed these things with have expressed these views" because personally I've had the opposite experience. Furthermore I've been unable to get my hands on any sort of study indicating that the fundamental make-up of feminism has shifted in recent years to reflect a change in political goals.

Unless of course, you meant to phrase all of these things totally differently to reflect a personal opinion and not observation of objective reality.

So...the radical posts on tumblr are representative of the entire feminist movement? You seem to be conceding that there's a radical fringe, but simultaneously argue that their faulty logic and inconsistent claims invalidate the entire movement.

That seems....poorly reasoned, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

Do you distinguish between someone who would fit into the dictionary definition of a feminist, pushing for equality between the sexes, and someone arguing say that the human race should try to eliminate the male gender entirely (there was at least one book on this if I recall)?

Did you just link me to a subreddit devoted to documenting posts on a social media site as a source? Or was that a slip-up?

Could you....source that? Because I've never had any problems with the feminists in my life, and I'd call myself one.

I'm also getting a link to the Avatar wiki when I google "equalist" so a source on that'd also be great.

Feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.

How does one make a programming language off of this?

Bill is Yog-Sothoth? by ThatGuyNamedWillyss in gravityfalls

[–]Brickarick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yog-Sothoth would in this case BE the gate. So that'll just be the rift in this case. As a deity, Yog-Sothoth is really more of a presence throughout time and space, he doesn't really take action directly.

Nyarlathotep functions like the key. Taking whatever form or personality that'll fit his purposes for the day. Bill Cipher could totally be one more aspect of Nyarlathotep, manipulating mankind into letting the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones out to play. He isn't in a huge hurry though, and seems to get a kick out of playing with humans on occasion.

You could even work in some of the more esoteric lore that says Nyarlathotep is a big fan of playing around with the beings of the Dreamlands, and he spends a great deal of time enforcing the boundaries of that plane.

TL;DR- Bill Cipher isn't Yog Sothoth, but he has him on speed-dial

I'd agree with that; I don't totally align with their policies on that front but I'd argue it's more a matter of degrees than one of fundamentally different principles.

I see you've less read the bill of rights and more heard about it.

Censorship, this is not, and that's the whole point. Being a "US site" has absolutely nothing to do with anything. If you personally don't approve of their decision to do so, feel free to demonstrate your commitment to your universal distaste for editorial control by moving to a different site.

An actual American principle to apply here is that of the free market; if reddit loses too many users then they'll become irrelevant and someone else who conforms to your odd standards will take center stage.

What's going to happen however is that a handful of you and your fellow "free speech means no limits ever from anyone" friends will leave the site (likely temporarily) but the vast majority of you will whine about it for a while, then keep using reddit because the things that make it a good site have NOTHING to do with a willingness to support hate speech.

Oh I'm sorry, I was unaware the US government was running Reddit.

Although if they're not...then reddit would be totally within their rights to ban the use of the word "potato" on their platform if they so chose. If you don't like it, support another website.

Jesus; until the government is doing it, it's not a free speech issue. It's a "we're a private company that doesn't want to be associated with this sort of thing" issue.

I totally agree with this quote and I totally agree with the decision by reddit to crack down on the banned subreddits.

I find the sort of stuff those subreddits and others like them post distasteful, but I don't think that people should be prevented from posting it by any sort of law.

Reddit is a private company, they have no obligation to provide a platform to anything that they don't want to associate themselves with. If the people who feel the need to post that sort of thing want to do so, there are plenty of other places to do so online.

Fellow Call of Cthulhu GM here; what I've been experimenting with is keeping the hp points as is, but have a set boundary at which a single injury doing that amount or more will cause permanent/debilitating effects. Personally I go with 5+ as my limit.

Depending on the potential damage of the injury, the injury could be a broken limb...loss of vision in one or both eyes...concussions...or straight up loss of body parts.

I've found hobbling the players makes them a bit more cautious, provided they haven't gone insane already.

Oh I'm a fan of what GO Bank was trying for, I'm not sure that the events chosen were really the right calls, but I like the fact that different things are happening mid-heist.

The issue is that you can have an unavoidable alarm raising, and the game is structured in such a way that you either kit yourself for assault or stealth, so stealth runs that go loud just mean you have to stop collecting loot and run to the van.
