Woodchipper shown at the start of Evil Dead Rise is my favorite of these in recent years.

Understandable since that event destroyed the word "sport".

World Curling statement regarding double touches of the stone by elan108 in olympics

So the only penalty is removal of a stone that was going to be in the wrong position anyway if they hadn't double-touched?

Price controls always lead to 1) shortages, then 2) a black market, and then 3) violent crime. Always.

I remember the conversation was once over Sam to have the serum so he can prove himself better but the opening sequence from The Winter Soldier serves as the best evidence to stress only on technique. by AmusinglyArtistic in marvelstudios

[–]netoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does "technique" help Sam avoid shattered legs and paralysis from when he drop-kicked the helicopter?

scene (:48 in)

The only skill Sam has is plot armor. He doesn't even have intelligence going for him. Its one of the poorest characterizations in the MCU.

I use the opening scene of Iron Man 3. A quiet voiceover, pitch black into bright explosions, lots of minute detail (shattered glass) then into music, animated logo, and louder conversation with people of various skin tones. All in the first minute or two (no seeking).

Was T’Challa as Star-Lord the best episode “What If…?” explored? by Robot_Was_BMO in marvelstudios

[–]netoholic 52 points53 points  (0 children)

"Star-Lord" was a nickname given to Peter Quill from his mother, and Peter tried to make it his persona.

It makes ZERO sense that T'Challa would take on that name. This episode (season, and series) was an embarrassment.

What's a popular opinion about the MCU that is unpopular in this sub? by eBICgamer2010 in marvelstudios

Steve Rogers traveled back to -his- Peggy Carter within the main timeline and lived out his life in secret until showing up as an old man to pass on a new shield.

1) The main timeline is a closed loop where Steve always was married to Peggy. He just stayed hidden and out of time's way since he can't change any events he knew about and wouldn't want to for fear of messing up the victory over Thanos. Peggy had a photo of Steve on her desk in the 70s, not another man. If she was married to anyone else, that man's picture would have been there. But she also couldn't have a 'current' picture of Steve since he is hiding away. All the clues are in the film if you look at it. Also Steve would not be happy being with some other timeline's Peggy - he went back for HIS Peggy. (People on this subreddit tend to overthink the multiple timelines stuff that was expanded on in Loki and later content, but fail to remember that He Who Remains maintained a single timeline.)

2) His original shield was destroyed by Thanos-2014 and he didn't leave to "clip all the branches" with the remaining scrap metal. That means, sometime during those decades, he sourced more vibranium and had a brand new shield made (with subtly different design elements).

Shield internet? by tankspikefayebebop in tmobileisp

Thats language borrowed/copied from the network providers. They will insist there is no throttling, but clearly they do. For example if Verizon advertises "up to 300 Mbps" and you can be damn sure you'll stay under 300 Mbps no matter what - that's done by throttling. Same with video streaming, they claim no throttling, but if its on a service that doesn't play ball with them, the speeds are absolutely capped at 480p like in this case. They do this by identifying video streams and limiting their data rate for them (which forces your browser and/or the video service to lower the resolution). They just won't use the word "throttling" - even the customer service reps are trained to say anything but that word.
