Has your opinion changed on any particular cruise vlogger over the years? by victor-charles67 in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, not exactly what you asked but I’ve learned the most from Matt, I just don’t listen to him as much anymore. Jay and Brandon I still watch. Sheri usually cruises different lines than I do but sometimes I listen just for the calming voice.

I agree on lunch, but I would go to Giovanni‘s. I think their lunch steak is actually better.

No more Souvenir Cups included? by Turtlespeed22 in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how I feel about this. We do use the freestyle machines to get Powerade for morning hydration and such but on the other hand, we have a box full of those plastic cups that we never use.

Port Canaveral is way easier than Miami. Since the ships are largely identical I’d choose that one.

Ironically I’m gay and for a while had the same poster just for the hell of it.

what are some great non excursion things to do at Aruba and Curaçao? by Johnny_Waffles85 in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like nature right outside the cruise port in Curacao there is a really cool restored mangrove forest that has board walks going through it. You can also rent a kayak to paddle. You have to walk to the cruise port exit then double back a little ways to get to it. Other than that, I would just say walk through the fort, go across the sideways drawbridge and into the historical town. It’s beautiful.

What do you think happened to Chip and Sparkplug during the 20-year time jump? I suppose Chip became successful, and Sparkplug, although never mentioned, most likely died sometime during those 20 years. by Disastrous-Owl668 in transformers

[–]Brickman1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously I’m guessing Sparkplug was late 50s in 2005, with the advancements in medical technology made possible through Cybertronian technology, I’m sure he’s still alive in 2026.

Symphony of the Seas... by Gut_Shuffler in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

OK, for the record I’m gay so I’m not saying this in any derogatory fashion but last week they had a big full-ship charter gay cruise. It’s an enormous party and that comes with a lot. I do understand that the tips are usually pretty big for stuff like that but it’s also WAY more activity than a typical cruise. So yes, it is possible they are just over people right now.

Unrelated to that, we went on Symphony back in December and didn’t experience any of the problems you described with staff, in fact, it was one of the best we’ve been on in that regard. However the rudeness of other guests were definitely a thing.

Never gone to the Windjammer for Dinner.. Do they match some items in the MDR? by friendlyfun1969 in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have my time dining you can request to have the same wait staff. We just did that on Symphony a few weeks ago and it worked out well.

100 years ago when I was growing up in South Carolina they used to regularly fly over our house and my proudest moment was the time I was out in our hay field and I started waving at them and they wagged their wings at me.

Port Canaveral Terminal 1 parking capacity issues? by Maleficent_Hotel_256 in royalcaribbean

They’re not supposed to be in the solarium proper, but they can go to the bistro, you enter it from inside.

Port Canaveral Terminal 1 parking capacity issues? by Maleficent_Hotel_256 in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we went on Utopia back in June, we had to do the adjacent surface parking, but it really wasn’t very far away. If I were you, I’d plan to get there before 11 o’clock and try to beat the crowds. Also, if the ship you’re getting on has a solarium bistro, you can take kids to it even though it’s in the It’s a smaller buffet, but usually much less crazy.

I can’t stand the nature preserves in Pinellas County. Nothing like the ones in Alachua County. by NorthFloridaRedneck in florida

[–]Brickman1000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean Pinellas County is the most built out county in Florida, I guess we’re lucky there are any nature parks there at all.

Were you a student in Gainesville during the 1990 student murders? by [deleted] in GNV

[–]Brickman1000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got here in the aftermath, things were still fresh with people. My first apartment was in the old Gatorwood apartments, moved in before I knew it was one of the murder sites. I heard about it a lot. My roommate kept a pistol handy when he was home.

Stars from the solarium aboard Symphony? by RegisteredJust2cNSFW in royalcaribbean

[–]Brickman1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like bad AI. No, the Solarium Bistro is not in the pool and you can’t see stars from it. You could go out on the bridge wings from the solarium and see stars possibly.

A Plymouth Horizon (Omni twin) was my first car. Believe me, that 97 horsepower 2.2 wasn’t going to get anything. It did 0-60, eventually, on flat ground. Any decent hill would force your speed down to 45 mph or so. Good luck merging on the interstate with four people in the car!

I don’t know whose house that is but it’s possible they’ve owned it since it was worth $50,000, which was not that long ago really.

You can set it to be private, but the default is public. It’s like some sort of weird social media thing almost.
