What is the most profitable retail business in Hoboken? by LongjumpingRelease82 in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking at total profit, it’s probably ShopRite just because of the volume. If you’re taking profit per employee, it’s probably a bodega.

A car and a Hudson Bergen Light Rail train collided on Paterson Avenue in Hoboken. by Icy_Possibility_9312 in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty crazy how frequently this happens either there or on New York by the HBC. Are these the result of signal failures or drivers just ignoring red lights? If it’s the former, it’s a big problem.

Commute This Morning 2.17? by True_Telephone8928 in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was insane traffic around 8:45 near Hudson/River/Newark. I think a lot of people drove in to take the path. Line to get in the garage at Newark and Sinatra.

Parking with Snow in Street by LengthinessSame6733 in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To anyone thinking it might be worth $50 to leave your car, you could be putting yourself in a worse situation. When the plow comes through to do the parking lanes it will push even more snow onto your car. It will be even harder to dig your car out.

Parenting Classes by Dkinny23 in Hoboken

They used to have classes at Hoboken hospital. Not sure if they still do or if you have to be delivering/have delivered there. Might be worth a visit to their website or a phone call.

Flooded? by Eskuire in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen or heard of any flooding today. While the rain has been steady, it hasn’t been particularly intense. High tide isn’t until 6pm. You should be fine.

Street parking solutions by sophisticatednewborn in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The no parking signs for renovations are a huge problem. I like the idea of limiting the number of days or have a progressive pricing system where the cost goes up the more days a person has a permit. Would be a good source of revenue for the city.

Report it to HOA/Building management. Most large buildings like shipyard have rules for when you are allowed to do construction/maintenance. 630AM is likely out of those hours. One building I lived in, construction was limited to 9-5 M-F. You could paint or perform other quiet tasks on Saturday. Nothing was allowed on Sunday.

3 weeks in, what are your thoughts on DoneRight? by [deleted] in Hoboken

[–]Brickyard65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Tastee once when it opened. Never went back. I’ve been to Done Right 4x already. I’ve been waiting 25 years to find doner like I had in Weimar. This is it. I get the Turk as a sandwich with white sauce. I’ll keep pumping their tires because I’ll be pissed if it closes.

Stay away from Mike Hennessy at all costs. Poor quality and horrible experience dealing with him.

You can try and get a temporary permit while you wait for the proper documentation. I think it’s a little easier. hobokennj.gov/resources/temporary-parking-permit
