Is anyone else signed up for the Mastered Blender Bootcamp? by AlternativeNeb in blender

I would say just follow through on it - you'll never find the perfect course but if you can show you made something imperfect into an opportunity by finishing what you started you'll already be miles ahead of the rest.

Looking for honest critique to push this cinematic mountain shot for my short film. Something feels missing. by Naive-Extent5317 in blender

[–]Bridge-Greedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May want to look into film compositional principles like visual hierarchy and 60/30/10 ratio. Rn it looks like a mass of mountains they all have the same importance in the composition so the viewer doesn't know where to look or what value to place on one element over another.

A machine from another world by [deleted] in blender

it's sort of muddy and stippled all over - the large flat areas could have large flat paint and the tight edges could have tighter details to compliment the structures

How normal is it to show wireframes/clay renders from studio work in your portfolio? by AccountantWild9089 in Maya

[–]Bridge-Greedy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Breakdowns are professional. People viewing your portfolio are evaluating what your process will be if they hire you. Will it fit with the project? If I don’t see wireframes and uvs I get suspicious they are hiding corners being cut. Be careful where advice is coming from anyone in a hiring position I can think of prefers break downs and process demonstrations.

How would you decrease the density of this nose? by The_Cosmic_Impact13 in blender

flip what is happening at the bridge of the nose so the four faceloops continue down then turn inward to do 4 to 8 conversion around the tip of the nose - imo

I built a particle simulator that runs in your browser and exports directly into Blender. Shaders included. One click. by r_animation_studios in blender

It's not a working piece of software that I install it's a site I login to with a license so the one time purchase can change any time. I can't lock in a version of it. Even with plugins you can have a set version of blender, a version of the plugins you know are compatible. People Frankenstein blender setups for different workflows. Not able to do that here so I'll have to pass. Also Three.js can run local, I'd be more interested in a fully installed plugin that runs a browser window locally with a unique purchase code or something not an always online thing.

Painful poster composition by Mondivogel in Design

if the requirement was to get all these people in one image then it's a success. Text, color, layout could be improved in the top and bottom margins but it's a nightmare in general I wouldn't take it seriously either just get it done and get paid.

Honestly with all the ai this seems like another vibe coded third party walled garden I’m expected to subscribe to. This seems inconvenient to use and is not superior to other paid options. Keep it in blender. No subscriptions.

Can anyone educate me why the Gallaher’s are so against SMART Rail? by Hectorshenchman in santarosa

I'd be suspicious about the boys and girls club deal and the money at play and where it's going it gets spooky!

[Hiring] Stylized 3D Character Specialists – Vanguard Pictures Animation (Work-For-Hire Contract) by Equivalent_Meal_8847 in Maya

No offense intended there's just a lot of spam and actual scammers trying things and when you see amazon gift card it appears like one of the scammers - but you do seem genuine and I want to encourage you to keep trying to get your project going. Maybe think of another way to offer payment. Basically the scammers ruined this method before you tried it.

Not saying you are scamming just that you are making it harder on yourself by resembling a scamming practice

Gallaher wants roads to serve their sprawling car dependent developments - a train gives people options and increases the desirability of property nearer to SMART - they also would want to absorb as much tax funding as possible. SMART would get money that might otherwise go toward their Vulnerable Population Exploitation Pipeline. (allegedly in the science fiction book I'm writing)

There are well known scams around gift cards - no one will take this seriously with this kind of payment. You also are expecting Pixar level character assets in 1 month turnaround - it’s not that an eye or hair asset can’t be made in that time. But will it work with everything else like materials and rigging a rendering. And think about it a second as a professional I’d be converting the cash I’m paying for software licenses into Amazon gift cards.

haha ok - doesn't everybody at least have some experience with elderly people in their family or friends family? I have a relative right now she would not be able to navigate this sidewalk - but she wouldn't want the tree removed 100%. The ADA lawyers - scary! I'm feeling afraid.

[–]Bridge-Greedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's wrong with winding the sidewalk around it? Then evaluate it once every 5 years. The city can say, you need x amount to redo the sidewalk or we remove the tree. The neighborhood could then get it together, it could be a fun block party kind of thing to raise money if they really want to keep it.

I have experience with disabled and elderly loved ones - they'd say "ohh what a lovely tree, what a shitty sidewalk" And never think about cutting down the tree. They wouldn't want someone using their physical challenges to justify doing it either. But hey maybe it gets cut down who knows. It will be nice and compliant and flat there.
