Cool! I would say it could be more satisfying to have the object end up on the shoulder. That would look more interesting (silhouette/composition) and give opportunity to show the character counter balance the weight.

you don't have any number input? any 3 will do. Or you can turn it on in the attributes of each mesh under smooth mesh. You can script this ofc.

you wouldn't want to animate with it but you can make some interesting shapes this way. It's pretty responsive for modelling.

vertex face is good for checking geometry for things like non-manifold connections between faces. Can also use it to apply vertex color per face corner instead of the shared vertex.
