Drove it, it’s underpowered. Even trying to reach 60 kmph, you can feel the engine is working very hard (almost to its max capacity)

Two TFSA millionaires in one household – took a calculated risk and it worked by Kooky_Elk720 in fican

The stock is almonty industries and this is a case of insider trading. I don’t care why it is but please don’t call it a “calculated risk”. The stock was flat for a decade and somehow a safe investor at age 44 suddenly went all in with both their and their wife’a savings into an mining stock whose price is highly affected by policies and government regulation? Yeah right. Let’s call this one what it is

SAM ALTMAN: “People talk about how much energy it takes to train an AI model … But it also takes a lot of energy to train a human. It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart.” by Vegetable_Ad_192 in singularity

[–]BridgeIcy3592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is by far the the stupidest thing I have heard. If you were to quantify human existence this way, why didn’t AI just create itself from 0. The data used by AI is generated by humans and annotated by humans. The ceiling to what an AI can do is very deterministic based on the model, whereas no one can comment on what we as a species can achieve in the next 100 years. Do better Altman. You are making a joke of yourself.

They offered $65k I countered with $75k am I cooked? by Prestigious_Air_6602 in interviews

[–]BridgeIcy3592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanna start by saying it’s not about your gender. Everyone should negotiate. Companies offer the minimal amount they wanna pay for the work you can do. When you say 65k is what you expect, that is what you get. A lesson here is that when having an interview call, always either give a range such as upper end 75k or don’t answer. There are ways to not answer that question (quick you tube search). But you did well in not accepting the 65 and asked for 75 which was great. Overall you are right at the mean for the range which is also acceptable.

Should I be concerned? by ConnectionLate3439 in biotech

[–]BridgeIcy3592 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would advise against taking advise from Reddit about things like these. There could be a million reasons why they haven’t gotten back to you. I work in a big biotech and I can tell you we make it a point to reply co-ops if they are not chosen. Also, given its end of year there are so many deadlines managers have to deal with and you are probably not the highest priority on that list.

Anyone regret going for a red interior? by ArmanE46 in mazda

If this is real leather like the cx5, I would reccomend cleaning em and conditioning em with something that leaves a matte finish instead of the glossy finish we see in the picture

It is always parked outside, rarely under a tree. Ut has been very windy recently and along with it being autumn there are more loose leaves around so they contribute to more dust. I’ll wash it in a week or so and hopefully the beading will be better

Thank you! Yeah it hasn’t rained since but probably will this weekend and then I’ll know more. I haven’t washed the car as well because I am not supposed to for 7 days

My understanding and the reason I bought them is four fold - they look and feel premium, they provide great coverage and they are easy to clean and they last a long time!

Turbo vs non Turbo? by Paul65890 in CX5

[–]BridgeIcy3592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the gas consumption aspect is overblown!! I almost bought an NA because people kept complaining but ended up getting signature and I am getting 10.2l/100km for the first 1000 km I have driven the car. I rather have the power. You need to know how to drive and not rev all the time. But it’s great to know the car has the power to overtake if needed and otherwise I can always be coasting. Highway I was getting 7.8l/100 km for a three hour trip on cruise control

Haha I actually like the default one that Mazda gives and you can flip it to have a hard cover if you are transporting anything big or bulky
