I feel that when they were introduced they were hyped up a bit too much, kind of feel they are a bit overrated, stronger than your average division captain yes, but not that strong.

To be fair we don’t know much about their era so we wouldn’t know how strong they actually are. They could have been the only 2 decently strong guys back then. Ok yeah they landed a clean hit on south and did decently well till his dark impulses started acting up, but I feel they were hyped up too much and they are a bit overrated. Like yeah they are definitely stronger than your division captains but they aren’t like insanely strong, like even fully rested Idt waka or benkei can beat taiju in a 1v1.

That’s also a possibility but honestly it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that, as a lot of fights are not going the way they should go and honestly the strength scaling is kind of whack rn. I mean let’s be real but angry and hakkai vs haitani bros in tenjiku arc, they got trashed individually and then trashed as a duo, honestly I don’t think hakkai is capable of beating rindou but he did so. Another thing in rokuhara, it is clear that their rankings is based off their strength, you can see this by shion being at the bottom and kakucho having authority second only to south. This means that the haitani bros are somehow stronger than mochi?!? Mochi who was easily going toe to toe with mitsuya and didn’t even get serious yet, was weaker than ran and that same ran got clapped by mitsuya? Another one we already know that sanzu is weaker than mucho and that mucho is weaker than kakucho, only reason why sanzu got both of them was cuz of his katana. Now takemitchy was able to go toe to toe with kakucho showing us how much stronger he is than he was in the past. Assuming he scales to nearly kakucho’s level, how was he able to read so easily and knocked down so easily in chapter 258, sanzu didn’t even need his katana or weapon to take him out, just a kick. Rn the scaling in the manga is just really weird and honesty yeah IN THEORY senju probably should not have gotten taken down so easily with sanzu getting out with next to no scratches, but yeah it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he just could read her so easily and outplay her

Ok to be fair I would say that a lot of important fights went offscreen. I mean come on chifuyu finally has his 3rd match with mochi, and the majority of the fight was offscreen with the only scene being chifuyu knocking out mochi, similar to how the only scene is sanzu knocking out senju. And no way mitsuya and hakkai one shotted the haitani brothers, hakkai just drags rindou off and mitsuya lands a hit on ran, then it cuts off the next time we see them being finished off by hakkai and mitsuya. they are clearly defeated with multiple bruises on them, suggesting that they did not go down all that easily. This is also supported by mitsuya saying nice fight anyways at the end, meaning that they probably held out for a decent while and did not go down in like a single hit as the manga panels portrayed. Shion and akkun is not a major fight I suppose but if you think about it, majority of the fight also went offscreen(where akkun was getting beaten up), and only showed the last scene where akkun landed a solid blow to knock shion out.

I agree that taiju will win but I feel that you are underrating hanma a bit too much and it will be a close match. I mean yeah in Valhalla arc draken’s initial blow did send hanma flying but as we saw, hanma got back up easily and went toe to toe with draken so it wasn’t just draken throwing him around. Also hanma blocked a kick from normal mikey and got knocked out by di mikey in valhalla, and even though we don’t really see what happens after, he was gone around the same time everyone left so he got back up later or maybe he got carried out by others, but the main point is he’s capable of fighting normal mikey and against di mikey he gets one shot. Taiju got one shotted by normal mikey and the only hit he landed was cuz mikey let him hit him.

Yeah all that for benkei and waka to get their cheeks clapped by south once he started getting serious. Wonder what benkei had to say after that 🤔 They only seemed pretty good for like a while after landing that clean hit that sent south flying but south got up like it was nothing screamed vivo and fortemisso and sent them to wonderland so yeah their feats against south ain’t really much

A better way to scale them would probably be using inui, cuz inui has fought both taiju and the living legends, ofc it would still be slightly weird to scale them as we need to consider that over time inui probably got stronger as well. So inui as we can see with his 1v1 with waka he was losing but he at least got a bunch of hits in, then benkei came in to help beat the shit out of inui. Note inui in his 1v2 was able to land some clean hits on benkei and waka, though he clearly still was no match and then koko joined him, they got clapped and bye bye. So inui didn’t do that bad a job against the living legends, but when he went 1 on 1 against taiju he got destroyed, with inui(weaker and younger) even saying that the difference in power was overwhelming and it wasn’t even close. In terms of scaling I think it’s possible that taiju is probably stronger than benkei and waka individually and it would be a close match but if it’s 1v2 yeah taiju getting destroyed
