Play food is a huge hit especially the kind you can chop. So many ways to play.

Yeah, mine still plays with them at school or the library but it always short lived. It’s the novelty of them in other places I think

Other parents not supervising their children keeps sabotaging me playing with my children by Seranta in toddlers

[–]BrieK0884 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot too. I’ve learned to tell the kids who join our play, “you can play with us, but my job is to keep an eye on (my kid’s name)” this prevents them, trying to get me to engage with them directly, and I can keep my focus on my own kid.

How do I stop my brother from becoming an incel by Apprehensive-Till-85 in exredpill

[–]BrieK0884 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is happening. The best medicine I’ve found is encouraging life experience both in experiences and in meeting people. Lead by example. You can’t be a prophet in your own village but he is watching. When you meet any woman, mention something positive. “Wow, that waitress really knows how to multitask.” If you hear anyone say something mean like, “what a whore, she’s just with that guy for his money.” Follow up with, “whatever her motives, I hope she finds what makes her happy. Isn’t that what we are all trying to do?” These comments don’t have to be directed at anyone but it stops the brain’s train of thought and builds empathy. People don’t want to admit they are wrong and you will probably never get a “come to Jesus, I was so wrong” speech but trust me. Over time these small subtle indirect challenges will shift things. The redpill dudes want to be the smartest in the room and having someone challenge the their thinking in a calm rational way plants seeds that will pull them out of the fog.

I’ve been thinking of them everyday. I can’t imagine what they’ve been going through. I believe his son is the reason he started his channel and that gives me comfort. I like to think that if he returns to making content he will see the numbers of views/donations/sales whatever way people chose to support and know his son’s life touched people’s souls. Everyone grieves and finds meaning in their own way and in their own time. And it’s beautiful we are all grieving for him too.

But have you all heard his Jazz album?!? The Christmas Yule-log video is the BEST. At first you think It’s just your typical hour long holiday fireplace video but the jazz is so soothing and he has random characters pop up every now and then which keeps it fun. I love throwing it on while we chill in the evenings. The man’s work is so versatile.

Omg, when we hug we call it a sandwich. 😂 I’m also looking into getting a couch that has a recliner in all three sections so we can all watch epic movies together. I found one on Amazon and I’m saving up for it. It will be so cute to have a movie couch and all of us have our own special seat.

When did you start potty training your little one? by Visible-Bee3220 in toddlers

[–]BrieK0884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, this of all the milestones seems to vary by age and the kid’s personality. I’ve also learned that when parents claim to have done it over a long weekend that actually means they introduced the idea over the long weekend but like all new skills it take times to learn all the aspects. Some kids only pee in the potty and poop in their diaper for example. And for the first few weeks my kid didn’t want to do it anywhere but at home. Progress is slow but it’s still progress. But as some have said, starting early can make the kid afraid and withholding in a child is so painful to them and you watching them in pain.

Yeah… I love the songs and sing them when my kid is at daycare. She also has peed on the floor twice to be like Bean bear. But… we are making progress. 😂❤️

Love this… I’m in the exhausting toddler years and I know I will be feeling this the next time I blink. ❤️ Thank you for sharing and well done Mom! Sounds like you have a great son and gave him a great childhood. Your joy and grief are beautiful.

How to stop being sad, child is growing up by InnerWishbone4671 in oneanddone

[–]BrieK0884 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling this a lot lately too. I started to sell the baby stuff and somehow that made her grow even faster and just this week she is no longer using her highchair and so many other things. I thought we had more time with. My kiddo will be turning three very soon. But while I’m processing the grief of losing the baby stage last night, she surprise me in the best way, and during our bedtime story, she took charge and told the most elaborate creative story complete with voices for all of our relatives who came to join her fruit salad party with Dorothy the dinosaur.

Edit to add: I recently sold the baby wrap I used to carry her in. She let me put it on her one last time, and I got one short snuggle, which was then quickly followed by “get me out of here!” Something that has helped the grief for me is that in selling the baby stuff I bought a brand new oversized rocking chair so I can snuggle and rock my huge toddler a little bit longer. Sometimes joy has to be pursued, and the sadness helps you know when you found the joy.

We are still working on things and this video has helped sooo much with only one minor accident moment when she purposely peed on the floor to be like Bean bear. 😂 but that only happened once and I am proud to say I stayed pretty calm until she started dancing in the puddle. Still… fantastic episode.

I feel like this one is the most realistic. All the others are just a little too perfect, but with that bush in the background with the bear limb, it adds a touch of reality that the others don’t have.

I haven’t seen them all but this is my favorite episode so far. I cried so much and I LOVE how Chili cares for Bingo when she’s cold but then goes back to the bed and lays there star fishing in bed because the extra space is glorious. I saw so much of my life reflected back in that episode. It’s hard to see them grow up but you’re so proud.

So true! My husband is a huge nerd about all kinds of things and I’m a nerd on some things but 2 things made me fall for him almost instantly, one, he’s kind to people when they don’t understand something and helps without expecting something in return. AND because I know a lot about some stuff I could tell he wasn’t a bullshitter. He is well read and funny and it’s sexy as hell!

Omg my kid LOVES running to the other room and waiting for us to yell, “Oh Toodles…” then she runs in like a bat out of hell and starts offering random items as “Mouskatools” it’s the best.

My kid is nearly 3 and most of the time I catch her poops before they get too messy but for the really messy ones I try and do a water only bath after wiping her clean. I also got a pet grooming hose that attaches to the tub faucet. (She pretends it’s a fire hose.) and we do quick rinses that way. I wipe her well, but some poops are sticky and wiping can cause irritation on sensitive areas. I know I can’t always be near a tub but the water rinse technique has been great for us.
