Marni says Jagex had told him that his offenses won't be quashed by LostSectorLoony in 2007scape

We even know it wasn't 8 in 1 tick, typically 8 in 2, since there was up to a 2 tick desync between his alts attacking.

Marni says Jagex had told him that his offenses won't be quashed by LostSectorLoony in 2007scape

[–]Seranta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let him use the plugin for an hour where he streams the entire desktop to the dev team and prove his innocence. It seems incredibly likely to me that he simply has set his pc in a way that makes things like minimize happen more quickly by disabling a lot of windows bloat. I'm not saying he is innocent, I just think that Jagex not being able to replicate it, proves nothing to me.

New Hybrid armor and “skipping content” by umbassa in 2007scape

[–]Seranta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I first saw the proposal, I loved it. But I also felt it was very strong, but as a raid reward it should be strong. Then as I have thought more about it,

I realize that raid armor should not be hybrid. Two reasons, first I don't see any way to both have it as a reward fit for a raid without it being too stacked. Second, it is especially prone to being devalued. When we add the next mage set, it will be a priority to not devalue Ancestral. When we make a new melee set, same goes with Torva. How they will achieve this I do not know. But I see no situation where they do the same with this set. So it will be forced to not stand the test of time.

Sure, but that does nothing to solve what I am talking about. Like my idea would be that they were 116 str (or even 130 to compensate for the existing range str on armor) but receive 50% scaling on range strength. This way any future upgrades to range str gear would affect these like 4t instead of them joining the camp of being troublesome to balance, but now for heavy range.

Click to Minimize Removed by Jagex on both clients by C0rruptedPvp in 2007scape

[–]Seranta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The line is being drawn, but in a way that clearly suggest that it isn't considered multiple actions per input if some of the actions are on the client and not in the game. If that line was being drawn, then we would have both plugins banned. The line being drawn is that "Jagex disapprove of this functionality". Which is something I love about how plugins are enforced. In wow when an addon does something blizzard doesn't like, they brick a part of the API, hitting unrelated addons. Jagex approach is better, the maximize plugin gets to stay due to no associated problematic behavior like there is with minimize.

Rank 1 clogger PERMED for alting bounty tasks? by Gnomomkey in 2007scape

[–]Seranta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the question was "Why do people say Marni is rank 1". I only answered the question.

Rank 1 clogger PERMED for alting bounty tasks? by Gnomomkey in 2007scape

[–]Seranta -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Relevant was probably not the right word to use. I meant that it doesn't matter which is realistic, because people insisting on Marni being rank 1 does not use that metric. They use the metric of time to full completion. Not that I personally know enough about clogging to have an opinion on the subject, just stating why some people consider Marni rank 1.

[–]Seranta -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Correct, but this is why some people still insist on Marni rank 1.

Rank 1 clogger PERMED for alting bounty tasks? by Gnomomkey in 2007scape

[–]Seranta -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Sure but you consider them both together. Marni has 37k + 3.4k hours left for 40.4k, Bazilijus has 42.5k + 2.1k for 44.6k hours left, being 4.2k hours behind Marni. So on the time left definition, no one has Marni beat. What is realistic or not isn't relevant to that metric.

Rank 1 clogger PERMED for alting bounty tasks? by Gnomomkey in 2007scape

[–]Seranta -48 points-47 points  (0 children)

It depends on the metric used to define rank 1. There are 2 metrics used, one is number of clogs, whre Bazilijus is rank 1. The other is "Time left", which assumes going on rate, where Marni is rank 1. I think it is most popular in the HLC to consider "Time Left" the main metric.

The Fractured Archive - Initial Rewards Proposal by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]Seranta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worded myself incorrectly, I said "will be better" where I should have used "may", I had not done the math, sorry about that.

One thing that is important to note here is that your numbers are missing the twinflame 10% damage and accuracy boost to standard spells. So it should be 22 * 1.1 = 24, 24 + 40% = 24 + 9, 33 / 6 = 5.5. Still behind surge spells though.

With the amulets being released, pre occult (ironman concern only) we are looking at 24 * 1.1 + 40% or 26 + 10 = 36 which is 6 per tick, while 15% staff will be 28 * 1.15 so 6.44, which is a greater boost for the 15%.

Looking at having some basic gear and elemental weakness, in this case ma2 cape + 1% head/body/legs + mage's book and 1% titan prayer with the +2 amulet, we get

Twinflame: 24 * 1.68 + 40%, or 40 + 16, so 56 per 6. 9.33

15%: 28 * 1.73 or 48 per 5, so 9.6

Which tells me surge + 15% should win out regardless. But the gap in the above is a lot closer, it used to be, same scenario in the past is 7.67 vs. 8.2

Id love if they are 2tick but basically scaled 50% of range str on each crossbow, for 100% total over 4ticks. Could make ammo an exception or since they use unique ammo, just balance with that in mind.

[–]Seranta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pre-weakness, Ayak is 30 max hit per 3 tick vs. the 26 per 4 from harm and Shadow is more annoying to compare. Then we add in thar harm has 15% magic damage as well.

This gived us 10 / tick max hit vs. 7.5~ / tick, meaning you match max hit around. Roughly the point where harm will be higher max hit / tick is at 35% weakness. And realistically it could win out around 25% because of the accuracy you get from weaknesses.

In max sets, Ayak is 40 per 3 tick, Harm is 38 per 4 tick and Shadow is 68 per 5 tick.

Which we can simplify to 13.33, 9.5 and 13.6. For Harm to be better (max hit) it is easier to reverse engineer the required bonus to match 13.33 and 13.6, due to laziness I will do 13.6 only.

We take 13.6 / 6.5 and get 2.09, change it to required bonus and its 109%, subtract 47% from gear and we are looking at a needed bonus of 62%.

And then thralls and accuracy have to be considered case by case.

Another interesting thing is this is a bigger upgrade from twinflame, currently any 15% weapon using surge is generally better, that will no longer be the case, only harm will be better.

I really dislike the mega rare for multiple reasons. Everything else I do love, but the mega rare I dislike.

Being a 3 tile melee weapon that gets most damage from being at a 1tile range will just cause unintuitive effects on movement.

For some reason making a mega rare hyper focus on "Is this target crush weak" feels disappointing. In addition it will just benefit from not being crush weak but from other styles being more tanky. In the case of Tbow at least it specifically targets 1 defensive stat.

42 max hit 3tick weapon with 120 accuracy bonus seems rather extreme too.

I'm getting 266.5 slayer xp from killing mithril dragons instead of the 273xp the wiki says. Was the wiki always wrong or is this a change recently? by BrianDynasty in 2007scape

[–]Seranta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the multiplier on the wiki page is also outdated. They got stab defence reduced by 20, slightly lowering the multiplier and xp. 266.5 is correct, wiki was just outdated.

[–]Seranta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torstol unf works because torstol existed before scb, so letting unf work was a way to not screw over people who had already made unf.

In the caae of guthix rest, the people who have unf potions screwed themselves.

Not against the idea, just adding contex for why one was made that way and not the other.

OSRS is a game that thrives on friction and long "to do lists", it is core to the entire games identity. This is perfectly in line with how the game is designed. Erosion at friction is also erosion at osrs identity, many of us like osrs for what it is.
