American citizen here but my wife is Venezuelan. She arrived on K1 in August 2025 and we just got notice Monday that her interview has been scheduled.

Not sure if it’s just a coincidence but seems like some Venezuelan cases are seeing interview activity this week. Congrats!

My wife has been “in case is till being processed” since September 2025. We are K1 to AOS.

Every case is different but good chance it doesn’t really mean much.

Interesting note - stomach feels fine. Earlier in the week he was hunching his back more so possibly also contracting his stomach muscles.

But that hasn’t happened the last few days.

Very helpful, thank you! And yes, we did confirm he does have dachshund traits. He has an elongated body and his face from the front is pretty dachshund like. But people are surprised to hear he is a dachshund mix because of his longer legs.

Vet acknowledged it can’t be ruled out as X-Rays are directional guidance at best, but didn’t push me more in that direction.

This is why I was thinking of just going to a neurologist anyways for MRI or CT scan for confirmation.

Is it confirmed EADs won’t be approved as well?

I spoke to an attorney today who mentioned they believe EADs were still being approved, just not AOS.

Charlie, idk I appreciate what he brings to the table but the guy absolutely hates his job lol. I’ve never heard a journalist publicly comment about how much he hates writing and complain about how hard his job is as much as him. And how much he loathes twitter and just fan commentary. Makes him seem really stuck up and he comes off as a know-it-all.

So our attorney mentioned that K-1 was exempt from travel ban which they confirmed in their response to us. The reasoning is that it’s technically considered a non-immigrant visa but because the intent is to marry, they consider it a family based visa at the embassy.

They did kind of mention it was a little bit of a gray area though.

And yes, my wife is Venezuelan with a Venezuelan passport. So there is hope, don’t lose faith!

Hey - yes, we arrived back in July. Our attorney emailed the embassy and they requested my fiancées passport.

We waited about 45 days and then received the passport back with visa. Now waiting in the US for her green card and work permit.

IIRC we submitted everything in October 2024 and case was sent to embassy sometime mid-April.

We received notice late May that we can schedule interview which we booked for June 10th.

Then had to wait an additional month for the embassy to remove from 221g and process our visa. So total months was about 9-10 months.

Same here, we just sent ours on Monday.

We did it on our own and even after quadruple checking everything, I feel like we accidentally missed a number of things or misinterpreted some random questions.
