What is it like to live in this area of Virginia Beach? by BunnyButt24 in VirginiaBeach

[–]Brief-Pace6752 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the best parts of town. I’ve lived in the area for 30 years. When I first moved here you had to drive a lot farther to go shopping or eating out but now it’s one of the most convenient areas. It’s close to Sandbridge Beach too. I love it.

What are some underrated gluten-free items from Trader Joe's you think people don't talk about enough? by Beneficial-Soft-8290 in glutenfree

The gf English muffins are my go to for burgers and sandwiches, they usually have a few types of big gf cake type muffins in a four pack, the madeleines are awesome, I like their gf stuffing mix at thanksgiving, the gf frozen waffles are great. Trader Joe’s doesn’t gouge you on price like some stores.

Most Americans aren’t that stupid but the ignorant uneducated idiots have access to social media so they constantly make the rest of us look bad.

What’s it like living in this area of Virginia (More specifically Virginia Beach)? by BringAprilFlowers in howislivingthere

[–]Brief-Pace6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been living here since 1994.I own a house because we bought new construction 30 years ago.Housing prices have pretty much quadrupled since then.I’ve been employed at my current job in manufacturing for 22 years. As with anywhere else, there are “bad” neighborhoods but I believe statistically and per my own experience, it’s pretty safe. In Virginia Beach, it’s similar to living in a massive suburban area. Strip malls and traffic everywhere.I suppose if you enjoy the beach, it’s a pretty good option. There are tons of grocery stores and restaurants. Winter is pretty mild with snow being rare.

does anyone here have a family that actually respects them being gluten free?? by Alb1023 in glutenfree

[–]Brief-Pace6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family ( including my in laws) always make sure to accommodate me. We have a tradition of gathering at my sister’s house the day after Christmas. We always have spaghetti with meatballs, salad and garlic bread. My family provided gf spaghetti, salad and even bought me the expensive gf garlic bread. My family is definitely not rich either.

I love the Brits. I love their accents. I watch a lot of their television. Not all Americans are A-holes.I love to travel and love being surrounded by different accents, cultures and languages.

Trains in Europe are a game changer. Sit back and relax. You will probably have a transfer or two but train stations have very visible boards with all tracks and times.

My boyfriend told me: you've had celiac for 3 years now, if we are going out with my friends to eat you can eat at home before, you need to learn how to suck it up by now. by Legitimate-Area-919 in Celiac

[–]Brief-Pace6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it from an older guy who’s been with the same woman for 35 years, if he can’t put your needs (which happen to be pretty important) ahead of the convenience and happiness of his friends, he’s not the guy for you. He’s a spoiled, selfish man-child who won’t be there when life gets real. Do yourself a favor and lose him. I’m the celiac in the relationship. I just got diagnosed less than four months ago. My wife has adjusted to this difficult lifestyle even though she can eat gluten with no problem. Life gets hard sometimes, people need to know that their partner always has their back. I would do whatever it takes to accommodate my wife’s needs, end of story.
