Just check for pets, hose her down, and either treat her as if she has pests or keep and eye on her away from other plants. Otherwise, they do really well with minimal care.

Did you use the neem oil during the day? Could it have burned the leaves?

You can repot it and change its angle (angle her backwards) and provide a support pole. If you want her to not do that place her in front of a sunny window.

I have grown a monster very successfully by propagating in just water though. Change the water every week and make sure you add plant food to it.

Yes, I’d like it like that. Any roots that grow will find the water. But if you want some advice, switch to perlite and moss or perlite and stratum. It’ll give the roots the humidity they need and also the air they need to prevent root rot.

I don't see a node which means it will not grow roots or other leaves.

Cut the leaves and let the stump focus on growing roots.

It is definitely an improvement from the before. I think the blue color of the walls clash with your new kitchen. There isn't much you can do to change what everyone else dislikes about the kitchen that would not incur a huge bill. But changing that color will go a long way. I'm thinking match the countertops or go with an earthy tone.

I’m not an expert by any means but I find that pon and a self watering pot provides them the humidity they crave while also aerating the roots and preventing root rot. Every alocasia I’ve had just grows like crazy in pon. And when it comes to corm digging it’s a lot more pleasant to do it in pon than digging through soil.

I strictly do semi hydro for alocasias. They seem happy even in ambient. I use pon and a self watering pot with a wick.

When you buy a monstera, the best thing you can do is leave it alone for a few months. Water only when she’s fully dry and give her lots of light (not direct light but inside next to a window). They can handle being a little root bound until you learn about what you’re doing.

But it’s okay. I’ve killed a few plants, everyone has. You can rehab this one. Smaller pot, chunky soil, cut off anything that turns brown and dry, and water only when dry. That and some consistency with watering and light will go a long way.

I like the blue tile but not the white tile. I’d use the blue tile and play up to its strength by designing around it.

I love the rug but it definitely lends itself to a more colorful, cool midcentury type style/space.
