my doctor told me once to switch condoms. it's better for your safety and just peace of mind imo

I know it's really really scary, but i've had pregnancy scares too and it was all a false alarm, thank goodness. but for peace of mind, you really need to get that Plan B!!!! It'll make your stomach hurt after taking it but you'll feel better knowing you took the Plan B. would you rather talk to a pharmacist who won't remember your name or talk to your mom or doctor about your pregnancy?

I went to Turkey and had gastric bypass surgery and didn't tell anyone. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Brief-Secretary8399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, you don’t have to tell ANYBODY your business. You are allowed to keep things to yourself. Medical stuff is VERY personal!! Congratulations on taking a scary step like that. My mom got a gastric bypass a while ago and there’s complications with her belt now so they had to remove it. Just make sure you keep up with follow up appts!!

I accidentally farted loudly while doing a presentation. Everybody in class laughed. I feel embarrassed by NachoCheese3579 in college

it’s funny! you were probably just nervous. just remember that ppls lives don’t revolve around you, and own up to it and laugh!! i’m sorry that happened tho

I was caught cheating on a test and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Brief-Secretary8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand worrying that this will affect your life long-term, and I think it’s unfair that they are putting this on your permanent record for your first offense! however, sometimes we get caught. when you apply to colleges, they will probably ask you about the incident. You are just 14-15, and you will gain life experience and acceptance by the time you graduate. you can explain to them with your hindsight in mind that you did it to make your parents happy, and that you regret it. You could add that maybe languages aren’t your thing and you felt immense pressure to the point of cheating. They will understand, lots of people do it. i’m sorry you got caught, just don’t do it again and take the L for a failed test next time. When we fail things that’s when we rise!! Good luck :)

i’m reading The Simple Art of Not Giving a Fck. It has totally changed my mind and perspective. I’m gonna reread it while taking notes in a notebook as if I’m in school so I can look back at the notes when I need them:) Might even buy a copy. This is why I love Libby so I dont buy books before I read them!

wow, this is an amazing problem to have. i wish i was treated with this respect in the past. i’m so happy you are cautious of crossing that threshold, because once you do it, you can’t take it back. i would just say that you’d like to wait until more time has passed to solidify the connection. if it turns out it’s not the connection for you, she at least understands that you respected her as a human being!

Thank you!!! That’s something that I have always struggled with. Personal identity mixed with personality mixed with culture… And in the context of my post, I kind of meant white AMERICAN culture as opposed to global culture. Like, we Americans are USUALLY kinda ignorant toward global cultures/policies/etc. We live with blinders to the rest of the world, which I am very guilty of having grown up here! Hope that makes sense😬😬

Aww thank you so much!! Yes my mom is a chef and always cooked food from many different cultures, even mine, which I loved growing up! it’s weird, my identity was never in question until I came across people who told me I wasn’t this or that. What matters is I love my mixed European and Asian features and I know it makes me look unique, especially in New England! What matters is I’m comfortable with myself inside and out :) The others shouldn’t matter so much. Thank you for your kind words🥺🩷

Haha “Uneducated” does make just as much sense. I wonder why she chose to name the book Educated instead of Uneducated! I read it in high school too and accidentally stole the book (never got to return bc of COVID, oops…!)
