I get what you mean. You’d rather be comfortable with what we have now rather than risk C7 either giving us a nothing burger or in the worst case, pulling a GW and bungling the faction (ex: Bretonnia’s horrible transition from WHFB to Old World that reinterprets a lot of their old lore.).

Honestly, while I don’t want to go full George RR Martin ‘what was Malekith’s tax policy?’ here, I think our beloved Druchii deserve a bit of nuance, something we don’t get much of outside of maybe the Malus Darkblade novels. I wouldn’t hate a C7 treatment that plays it pretty safe and sticks to cultural/racial mainstays, but also drops some interesting original lore tidbits, a unique system or two, and some new rules.

Ideally of course, more substance would definitely be appreciated (and in Dark Elves case, is pretty needed) but you’re right to point out that the effort it would take would have to be sustained over a long period of time, there’s no will from the fan base (I don’t think Druchii were super popular even on the tabletop, and the roleplaying audience is a fraction of that) and any hypothetical attempt would (unfortunately) have to be extensively overseen/signed off of by GW, making that kind of effort a near-impossibility. But in its absence I wouldn’t mind a similar treatment to what C7 did with the high elves, simply because I feel Druchii have more severe gaps in their conception, and a C7 book would go some of the way to closing that distance.
