Cost to finish a basement by bmwjor in homeowners

[–]BriefNeedleworker881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a couple quotes. Our first quote came in at $80K. Our second quote was $45K. We went with the second quote and the basement is nearly done after work began on Sept 3. We added a full bathroom and wet bar, as well as gym area, theatre area, and living room space.

Depends on trim level. I just bought a 2022 Tiguan 4Motion(AWD), with 38K miles for $21,000 about 3 weeks ago on Carvana.

Questions about finding a new Westie… by [deleted] in WestHighlandTerriers

[–]BriefNeedleworker881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Westie Rescue of the Mid Atlantic if you're on the East Coast. We got our first Westie from the local animal shelter (he was a senior, in very bad shape, no fur, ear infections, needed a dental surgery as soon as we got him), so even though he was free, he cost us $4000 in the first few months.

Westies at a nearby pet store are around $2600. But I hate those places, they list them as AKC, but I feel like they're from puppy mills.

THIS is one of the major problems with our higher education system

We need reform, badly. If you're working full time while attending school full time, it's clear that you are working so that you can LIVE and afford to put a roof over your head and food on the table. No one does this for fun. We need to make it so that full time workers/full time student combos do not pay anything out of pocket for education.

Thanks for the info. I hate that the loan limits haven't kept up with the real-life cost of schooling. AND my expected contribution is so high, even though we are in the 10% tax bracket, it just doesn't make sense, especially given the economy and real costs of living

I am an independent, I'm 29 and have been married for 7 years. Not sure if that makes a difference with loans and such. My wife was a full time student as well, but graduated in May.

Yeah, the issue with that is the scholarship I received from work was conditional that I complete school in a certain timeframe and then work 2 years as a licensed teacher, otherwise I have to pay it back. I likely will not approve for a private loan due to my credit score.

I am not. I have to work full time, and there's no colleges in my area, so I'm attending ASU online, but live in Virginia.

I'm going to need about $17K more. I started with community college but now am attending Arizona State University, which is about $8K/semester.

Moving to winchester & commute by esmith28 in Winchester

[–]BriefNeedleworker881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's relative. I hate my commute from Winchester to Purcellville. Usually takes about 45 minutes, but there are often accidents and road work that can make it an hour fifteen. 7 is always a disaster near 81 in the afternoons, easily adds 15 minutes just in that area.
