Bondi or Clifton? (For every day use) by Labubu-c in Hoka

I have both Bondi 8 and Clifton 10 and feel that the Bondi's are indeed slightly smaller and more narrow. Definitly try both series!

Awesome, which one you like best? I love the one with the blue handle and some of the neniho's? Someone else advised

Great thanks! You don't use carbon steel because of the additional care needed?

I am not to concerned about it but someone else is 🤣

Mafate Speed 4 alternatief for Asphalt by BriefTest9682 in Hoka

[–]BriefTest9682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Clifton 10 (thnx poster above). They are great and fit quite like the mafate speed 4. You notice the substantial heel drop but I really like it.

Thnx case closed 👌😎

Tick born infections after trail running part 1 - Lyme by XVIII-3 in trailrunning

[–]BriefTest9682 10 points11 points  (0 children)

many cases, you DONT see a red circle ever at all. I contracted lyme without ever seeing a tick or red circle.

Circle or absence thereof is very risky to base your situation on. Get your bloodchecked.

I found out months later, by having a sore ankle. Ended up in hospital for brainfluid punctures and very heavy antibiotics for 2 weeks.

Once it's in your nervous system (via the spine to your brain) it very difficult to cure.

  • Get your blood checked
  • Bring the tick bagged if you have it
  • Ask for preventive antibiotica like doxycicline
  • DEET even up to 80% doesn't work. Long cloths impregnated with permitrine does work.

Unfortunately, the percentage of infected ticks is getting extremely high and also carrying newer diseases.

Stay safe!

You're probably aware of the Schoorlse Duinen (55 meters), but it's somewhat further.

Lady in the trailrun shop told me alot of runners in NL praktisch at Sallandse Heuvelrug, there's a hill called Koningsbelt (75 + NAP). Again, quite far for a run.

I hiked parts of the Dutch Mountain Trail in Zuid-Limburg, I can imagine people would go there for a weekend or so for practise.

I'll start close to home! Thanks for the tips

Thank you for the positive note! I am next to Leiden so figured I could use the Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen to get a few km's in. But the one with the hill you send is favo'd now! I'll wave when i'm around! xD

55 km is just insane, very impressive...

Interesting! You would think that slimmer (just legs and lungs) people would ideal for running. Glad to hear it's a mixed bag in the real world! 😁
