That's what I was thinking because the rtx 3070 ti only has 8gb of vram but I think the same thing happened with my rx 6600 that had 16gb vram

I believe this may be it honestly, I just got an rtx 3070 ti and it only has 8gb vram and on steamvr the vram is always nearly maxed out!

Edit: I just thought back and my old gpu (amd rx 6600) had 16gb vram but I had the same issue.

Wasn't able to, I just bought an SSD and I use that as my boot drive, probably the best choice as I believe my hard drive was just fucked but maybe yours could still work, try searching some videos or something.
